1Blocker is the fastest and most powerful Safari content blocker that improves your browsing experience by blocking ads, trackers, and other unwanted content, such as popups, cookie notices, comments, and more.

1Blocker is secure by design — we don't track the sites you visit. We protect you from online tracking, data collectors, and help you be focused on important things. We think that 1Blocker is an essential app for anyone who uses Safari.

An independent team of two app developers is working on 1Blocker. Our mission is to make the Internet a better and safer place for as many iOS and Mac users as possible.

Blocking unwanted content with 1Blocker is extremely fast and doesn't slow down Safari.

We use Apple's native tools to tell Safari in advance what should be blocked. This vastly improves efficiency, reduces data loaded, and saves battery life.

1Blocker makes sites load on average 2-5x faster.

We don't have access to webpages and don't track the sites you visit. That's because Safari itself handles all blocking, we just provide rules for it.

1Blocker rules automatically stay up-to-date thanks to our powerful cloud service that builds and sends you new rules twice a week. (Available in Premium)

We believe that privacy is not for sale. That's why we don't have an "Acceptable Ads" program. We stay independent, and the only way we make money is through direct sales of 1Blocker on the App Store to you.

1Blocker is a highly customizable content blocker, providing the possibility of creating powerful custom rules. It allows you to create custom rules that block any URL by providing a regular expression or hide any element by CSS. It also lets you block cookies. (Available in Premium)

1Blocker works seamlessly on all your iOS, macOS and iPadOS devices. Your preferences and custom rules are always in sync no matter which device you're using.

1Blocker has been featured in TechCrunch, Lifehacker, MacStories, Macworld, and many more.

State of the art

1Blocker evolves to macOS Catalina in this state of the art update.

It makes a full use of macOS API that it might as well be an Apple creation.

The app smartly borrows the idea of using multiple extensions for essentially limitless possibilities (subscription required for new users, but free for existing customers that paid for earlier 1Blocker).

As before 1Blocker tends to be on the agressive side. To compensate, it lets users customizing what to block on per website-basis. For instance, block ads, but allow trackers.

With optional subscription, 1Blocker promise to deliver more frequent update. Speaking of subscription, a single subscription works across all 3 platforms -- iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

My only quibble is the app's UI. While serviceable, the app's UI is extremely unresponsive and flaky.

Thanks for the review! Interface performance is our top priority and it will be optimized in the upcoming updates.

Wonderful Payment options for upgrading users

I bought 1Blocker Legacy (1.0) on both iOS and Mac a few years ago. I held off on switching to 1Blocker X because it came out just a few months after I paid for the first version.

The free upgrade from 1.0 to 1Blocker 3.0 (this version) is incredibly generous! I also appreciate the fact that there is a 1 year trial of the cloud features. I'll be purchasing the lifetime version of 1Blocker 3 to further support the developer :)

Note to dev: I had 1Blocker legacy installed on my Mac and iPhone. I first tried downloading 1Blocker 3.0 on iOS, and the pricing options did NOT take my previous purchase into account (ie. full price and no 1 year trial offered on my phone.. both Legacy and 3.0 were installed at the same time). However, the Mac version installed as an update over top of the legacy Mac app, and then the pricing adjusted on both iOS and Mac (over iCloud I guess). Just a note that some people might be confused by the experience on iOS (I noticed some reviews in the iOS App Store indicating similar experiences!)

No more updates for older MacOS versions?

The new version requires Catalina, and I (along with many other people) will be using Mojave for a while, since I have 32-bit applications that I need to run. It looks like this means that I will not be getting updated rules, which will soon make 1Blocker useless. I appreciate the generous update uptions, but that does me no good without upgrading to Catalina and losing all 32-bit apps. 1Blocker was worth 5 stars (with maybe a star docked for moving to a subscription model), but I’ve already seen ads slipping through, and things will only get worse without updates. So I’m afraid I have to give it a low rating for neglecting users who can’t upgrade to the very latest MacOS.

We have to use the new APIs that've been introduced this year. This is why the new version of the app requires at least macOS 10.15. There are some major differences between the old and new API, and also new components are only available in Catalina.

In any case, if you need anything and we can help, we will do out best, no matter what OS you have. Feel free to contact us at
