Strap in, friends, today’s update is a big one. For the last several months our design and development team has been diligently laboring over every last detail of 1Password mini. Today we are so excited to show off this brand new way to use 1Password within your browser and apps.
## Intelligently simplified
When we began working on 1Password mini, there were three things we knew it needed to do really well:
• Show items that match the frontmost app or website.
• Fill your passwords, credit cards, and address information into a web page.
• Generate new passwords quickly and easily.
Each of these tasks was boiled down to its simplest form and then built back up to only include what was absolutely required to quickly, clearly, and efficiently pull it off. A big piece of what makes 1Password mini successful when it comes to filling your information is our "filling brain". Powered by machine learning, 1Password analyzes the web page and suggests the items you're most likely to need on that page - all without your information leaving your computer. What this means is that when you're on a shopping cart page buying that brand new bespoke artisanal handmade coffee cup cozy, 1Password mini will have your credit card ready and waiting for you.
## Drag, drop, and roll
In 1Password 7, we gave 1Password mini the ability to recognize certain apps on your system. Whether you are logging into your Adobe account within Photoshop, signing into Discord, or accessing Evernote 1Password will recognize when you're using these apps and offer up their related login information. The number of apps supported by 1Password has grown and with this update we've made it even easier to get your secure information into them. Simply bring up 1Password when faced with a login page in one of your apps to drag and drop your username and password. Once you start dragging 1Password mini smoothly fades out of the way and comes right back after you drop. It is one of the fastest, most secure, and fun ways to get your passwords where you need them.
## Search and ye shall find
While 1Password mini probably sees the most use in your browser, it is also the fastest way to get to any of your items. At any point while using 1Password mini, you can simply start typing a search term and 1Password will scan your item titles, usernames, website addresses, and tags to find exactly what you're looking for. On the phone paying a bill? Just type in the name of your credit card and it will show up. Filling out a customs form at the end of an international flight? Search for your passport to jump right to it. How about when you need your child's social security number when you're on the phone with their doctor? 1Password is great for storing all types of information, and with 1Password mini it's all just a few keystrokes away.

Yearly or monthly? Are you both? Read...
Did you purchase a yearly subscription to 1Password? Are you subscribed on a monthly basis? Be aware, I was both. I subscribed for the annual renewal, forgot, and subsequently subscribed monthly through Apple. Fast forward one year when my yearly renewed. It only then came to my attention when I was alerted by my credit card provider. I contacted AgileBits and after a series of back and forth correspondence, they agreed to compensate me for the annual. They would not compensate me for the monthly instead. The monthly being a more expensive option, I found myself out a small bit. Lesson learned. Shame on me for not having caught this on my own before my card provider asked if the charge was possible fraud. Having said that shame on AgileBits for double dipping. I asked of them, "If your system makes use of an email address as an index and I only have the one, why would your system not alert you to that?” I was told, they are looking into that. I enjoy having the software if I’m being honest. That said, I thought I would relate this experience here in case there are others possibly affected.

Hi Maykinit, I'm so sorry you ended up with 2 subscriptions! It sounds like the situation hasn't been fully clarified and we'd love to further discuss. Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and include "Maykinit" in your email so we can connect the dots. Thanks! Mathieu, 1Password
Every touch-point I've had with this product and the company has been a positive experience. I was first really sold on 1Password when they came out with Watchtower. That support for the Heartbleed problem was extremely well done and customer-focused. I'm a software engineer, (no affiliation) so understood the technical details of Heartbleed, and I thought 1Password's approach provided a great user-friendly experience to help non-technical folk protect themselves properly.
Once, I felt the need to get on the forum in response to a change in how the product handled multiple vaults. The response from the company was immediate, thoughtful, and convincing.
I've now recommended 1Password to multiple others over the years, including coworkers, friends and family. Have heard nothing but good feedback. My sister thanked me recently, saying "It changed my life."
After years as a customer, I just had my first, and very helpful, exchange with the Support team, regarding upgrading from an individual to a family subscription. Addressed my concerns and worked back-and-forth with me to update my account in a very short time, all early on a Sunday morning!
As I said at the beginning, every touch-point has been nothing but positive.

Thank you so much for this very positive review, Jay! Mathieu, 1Password
A nice update
I’ve just installed and updated to 1Password 7. It’s a solid update with nice interface enhancements. I was thrilled to see the addition of the Watchtower function that alerts me to potentially compromised, outdated, and duplicate passwords — a real plus. Even better, 1Password’s Watchtower can also display which websites offer Two Factor Authentication, which I use wherever I can. Seeing where I can add this to other websites and accounts is very important. Kudos, guys!
A feature request I had hoped would make this new update but didn’t was an expansion of categories under which you can organize my passwords, IDs, Serial Numbers, Notes, and other information. This is common in some competing applications, and a couple of competitors also allow users to create custom categories. While 1Password allows for a wide range of tags, something I also use quite a bit, expanding the variety of Categories would be a real help. I know that software developers can’t fit in every request on a major update, but I hope this will be a priority in the future.
Still, 1Password is my favorite application of its kind. And believe me, I have tried many of them, often with disastrous results. Well done, guys.
