You may be the first person to collect and share climate observations in a natural area that you care about and want to protect! The 2°C LEAF Climate Sensor App communicates with the 2°C LEAF Climate Sensor, allowing for the collection, download, and sharing of hyper-local climate data (Temperature & Relative Humidity).


Without formal training, you can contribute the climate data that scientists and conservation managers need to design the solutions we all need, by sharing critical insights into areas with little-to-no climate observations. Our automated system only requires you to Start and Stop the data collection, after which the system seamlessly transfers the data to our servers for quality control and sharing with those working on climate solutions.


Our small sensors are designed to easily go where data needs are greatest and can be used for hiking, biking, camping, cycling, skiing or simply walking your dog around the neighborhood. They collect Temp/RH and pair it with this mobile phone application that then appends GPS and Barometer information, providing data points from places where science most likely has not been performed.


Share your climate data collection efforts with your social network and have your data be used in scientific papers. You can opt-in for your name to be acknowledged and in the future, receive rewards from partner organizations in thanks for your hard work! You can add value to many areas, including supporting research as well as aiding conservation management of remote areas, and offering data supporting vulnerable communities, to name a few.


Participation is open to anyone, anywhere, regardless of age or training. To protect your privacy, your personal details and the locations you visit are not stored together and will never be shared with anyone. We use unique identifier numbers to distinguish between participants.


An Apple iPhone, as well as a LEAF sensor, are required to participate in addition to an internet connection to upload climate data.
