Same issues as always

I’m new to NAB, but from reading reviews of the app it appears it still has most of the same issues as previous years. The MOST annoying one being you have to sit through the splash screen EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. you open or switch to the app. If I already have it open and am just switching to the app, I shouldn’t have to sit through this every time. I want to make a quick glance at my agenda to see what room I need to find or where an exhibit is. This causes so much wasted time standing and waiting for the app to load. It also never goes back to where you were before you switched away from the app last, so you have to navigate back to where you were. If I had my schedule up last time, take me back to it. The exhibit hall maps? Take me back to those. The app is a necessity, but a very aggravating one.

Fall VERY short of useful

Hate to say it, but this befalls many single-event-only apps. Feels like every year they start over from scratch and design the same, over produced, under delivered app. Honestly, it’s more frustration than it’s worth. Yes, there’s a schedule and a map, but one of the huge short-Falls is that while the floor plan will tell you where a specific vendor is, it doesn’t tell you where you are. So you’re sill stuck blindly navigating the chaos of NAB. The app almost makes it worse, since you’re constantly referencing a 2D map without any point of reference. Basically, if you want to get lost at NAB, use the app.

Useful in theory, annoying in practice

As the other reviews suggest, the NAB app should be a great tool but instead it’s basically built to get in your way. Heavy on the ads, aggressively requiring login to do even simple things like save a few booths to see and slow to load when connections are less than great (like in a crowded show floor.) Sticking with a list in my notes app:
