Chartbeat is designed to connect to a HRM (heart rate monitor) accessory via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy / Bluetooth Smart).
Chartbeat keeps collecting the heart rate values when you wear the HRM accessory 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
After collecting the heart rate values, you can see the charts in three different mode.
- Hour: To see the value in detail
- Day: To find out when pumping too fast
- Week: To show how long you wear the HRM accessory
Numerous compatible HRM accessories, including:
- Scosche Rhythm+ (Recommended)
- Runtastic Heart Rate Combo Monitor
- WTEK HS-2BT
- Epson PULSENSE PS-600
- Wahoo TICKR Heart Rate Monitor
1. Auto-Delete the heart rate values, go to "Settings" -> "Heart Rate Values", tap to choose how long to keep your data.

This app is exactly what I wanted, a simple live reading of my heart rate along with a detailed graph that records consistently. The app connected easily to my Wahoo TICKR Bluetooth heart rate sensor.
This app would be great to just set and forget for example to obtain a 24 hour graph of heart rates or maybe up to a week’s worth of data.
At present time, the app does not appear to support raw data export or syncing with Apple Health (or any other app as far as I can tell). This would be a nice feature addition. It would also be nice to be able to ZOOM in on the graph.
The app does provide some features that I have yet to see in other apps, such as a battery level indicator for my Bluetooth-connected heart rate sensor. It also shows the BT radio signal strength of the sensor. Nice features.
