3. Start using the 2FAS extension

Secure and fast log in.

Simply pair the service you want to login in to with your 2FAS app, then 2FAS will automatically select your Two-Factor Authentication token for future logins. No searching or typing is required!

Free access — no account required.

2FAS is an easy-to-use authentication app that protects access to your online services and accounts.

Relying on a single password for your accounts, like Facebook or Instagram, puts your data and sensitive information at risk.

The 2FAS Authenticator App generates one-time codes called Time-based One-time Passwords (TOTP) or HMAC-based (event-based) One-time Passwords (HOTP) for your account. By creating these codes offline and changing them every 30 seconds or every login, 2FAS drastically increases the security of your information.

I would really like to have the interface (or something similar) that I see on my phone on the desktop.. as a backup if I don't have my phone handy

Marginal Substitute for Desktop App

In not having a desktop app, I was hoping this extension would be an adequate substitute. Unfortunately the extension is merely a relay to acquire the TOTP from your nearby mobile device. So a minor convenience but considering iOS apps can run on M1 Macs, it would be far more preferable if 2FAS didn't prohibit install on the M1s Macs.

Relay to Mac OS

Its unfortunate that the only "code paste" for 2FAS is a browser extension, as its one more thing that has access to all browser activity, which seems somehwat of a security risk when other methods could be used, such as the way Raivo OTP does it (separate app puts code into the clipboard to paste in Mac OS).
