300 Dwarves is a tale of an epic dwarven mercenary band. Their axes are for hire to anyone willing to pay in gold or treasure.
The once peaceful kingdom was attacked by the green horde and it was up to the gamer, the Leader, to prepare its defense. This began an epic journey in order to save the world from the green menace! Users are a dwarven commander, leading the band into battle. The choices you make will now decide whether your dwarves make it or not. As an old dwarven proverb says:
“What is better than a big axe?”
“Even a bigger axe!”
300 Dwarves features five unique towers with upgrades. In addition to that, the commander can use special powers like: artillery barrage, battle horn or even power of the rune magic. To provide non-linear progression of the game, the player can achieve skill point counts in the game as treasures, which can be spent as upgrades on skill tree.
You will travel through diverse lands of the kingdom and face different enemies ranging from small green goblins, through a whole menagerie of creatures.

Exactly what I wanted, but...
Only one map to complete…so sad. I could have played for 12 hours straight. The map and bonus battles will give you a couple dozen enjoyable tower defense thrills, but you WILL want more when you hit the final level on the map on complete the last bonus battle. Hopefully there ismore to come.
So far, so fun ...
I'm enjoying this game as a quick diversion. The art work is nice, the game play is smooth, and the role-playing elements are a welcome touch. I would enjoy a bit more variety in towers, but there are many upgrades to each type so it isn't too bad. I also normaly prefer more flexibility in the placement of towers, but this way allows for more detailed backgrounds, rather than a nondescript field found in other tower defense games. Overall, for the price, I can't really complain, 300 Dwarves is plenty fun to play for a bit of down time.
A good alternative...
Fans of the iPod/iPhone/iPad game "Kingdom Rush" will find this game to be a great alternative on the iMac/MacBook.
I absolutely love playing "Kingdom Rush" on my iPhone/iPod and was looking for it on my MacBook but it is not available for the OS X format. This game is very similar and I applaud Mr. Preseissen's attempt at making a comparable game. With a few typo's aside, this game is very well designed and makes killing time enjoyable.
I highly recommend this game to anyone!
