For pen & paper role playing games.
Explore a dark dungeon containing friends and foes from the collection of more than 50 miniatures (mostly monsters). One map is included, but you can add your own, view it from any direction. Each of the minis can be given a light source to help keep them safe. Zoom out to see the whole map at once, or dive in close to the action to count squares.
This early version is single player only.
There are no rpg rules implemented - it's purely a simulation of physical miniatures on a map like you would have on a table at home.
Ratings and Reviews
Looks nice but not really worth it for me.
Hoenstly I like the set up of this program. It looks clean and crisp and is very straight forward in its features. The issues is the amoutn of features. Lighting is an issue that can be fixed. But the one thing that breaks it for me is that all the character pieces seem to be the same size. I don’t know how to change the sizes and I don’t if you can.
There is nothing in the instructions about resizing the pieces. A Gold Dragon and a Giant should not be the same size as a human. It doesn’t make since. I’d rate this higher if those two things were fixed. Lighting and Sizing of Pieces.
The most promising Virtual Tabletop Software ever
Superb, elegant, nearly perfect in its simple power, this is far and away (really the only) virtual replication of real tabletop gaming…no needless complications, bells, whistles, or distractions…just the reality of tabletop gaming, network enabled (or soon to be) so you can experience REAL tabletop gaming from anywhere, anytime. This app is truly astonishing in how close to a real table and miniatures it gets - nothing else even comes close. Support this app…it unlocks ALL the power of imagination that is the true strength of real tabletop gaming and interaction without diluting the experience with video game interfaces and needless special effects. It is as close to "being there" as you can get…kudos to the developer for sticking to his simple yet powerful vision of reproducing true tabletop human interactivity, globally enabled! Allow nothing more, demand nothing less! Thanks for this app!!!
Definitely an early release, but promising
The user interface is dead simple to learn, and this is going to be extremely useful -- but, as the author states, it is definitely an early release.
Basically, everything that is supposed to work, does work, but there are not a lot of features implemented yet. I really like what I see so far and look forward to future versions.
To the person who said you can't zoom in and out...Yes, you can. Please read the documentation.
I'd like to see an ability to fully light the map, so that if you're the GM and you are just using it for your own convenience, you can see all. Adding a miniature should, I think, drop the new mini into the center of the viewport rather than slowly animating it moving onto the map. That's a small issue, but I could see it becoming an inconvenience if you were working with a lot of them.
It's not a mature app yet, but to be fair, it's clearly documented as such, and I think this will be extremely useful when it has had some further development.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
