THIS APP USE TO BE A GOOD SCANNER APP !

I have used this scanner app for years to listen to police and fire calls. I even paid $ to upgraded to 5-0 scanner PRO, but now the last two times I went to open it up to listen for a fire call in my area a full page ad pops up and doesn't allow the fire call to come thru at all, (audio or video) at the beginning of the call. So ya miss were that fire call is at totally . Very poor app now it doesn't work . I will be looking for a replacement scanner app and would recommend everyone else to do the same. It's a shame that greed has to become part of the equation to ruin such a fine pc of software. UPGRADE : I thank the developers of this app for giving the answer to the problem people were having with the ads for people that purchased the Pro upgrade (ad free) years ago like I did and give them the ability to get rid of the ads with out having to pay anything additional. Like I said in my original review and I'll say it again, it's a very fine pc of software that works very well. Thank you !!!

To restore your past purchase and remove the ads, just follow these instructions: Start listening to any feed and then tap the top right “+” button. Then press “Remove Ads”. Then press “Restore Purchases” on the top-right.

I’ve used a few apps for police/EMS scanners and this one is my favorite. I paid for the pro version which was worth the price to upgrade since I listen to the scanner activity for my city through an AirPod as white noise a lot. I listen while cleaning, working, and even fall asleep at night listening to it. I like that it doesn’t seem to drain my battery even while running almost constantly most days. It didn’t seem like there would be many added features with paying for the pro version but the enhancements it does have are worth the price. I like that it automatically connects to the last feed I was listen to and that I have the ability to customize the wallpaper. I also appreciate that it automatically reconnects if the feed is interrupted for some reason. Obviously the lack of ads interrupting the stream is the biggest improvement. Overall the interface is simple and easy to navigate and the one time I had a question, support was quick to respond with a solution. I recommend this app to people all the time and actually just learned recently that there must not be a version in the Google operating system which was surprising since this is such a popular app on iOS. Thanks for providing a great app.

In my experience all the scanner apps have all the same channels only differing in the format! This channel is no different in that respect yet I like this scanner app the most because of the user friendly format! While It’s definitely entertaining to listen to alameda & broward county sheriff stations, The reason I bought this app was to listen to what’s going on locally in my area this app was the priciest so I payed the 5$ wishing I could listen to a local police radio alas same stations as the 3 free apps without ads disrupting the radio and a cool map feature making the 5$ price more than fair! If they charged 25$ for an updated version with small town and suburban stations it would make this app stand out more and offer angsty teens and million dollar trust fund babies the opportunity to hear Marin @ snohomish county calls about latte & dog pee on lawn emergencies!

It's exciting to listen to all the action and a little scary and sad to know what's happening so close to home. BUT!!!... I would have to say, the best thing about this app is the added respect and love for law enforcement it has given me. What they go through each and every day is astonishing. Firstly, the patience that these guys have far exceeds anything you'll ever hear about in social media... The daily dangerous situations they are placed in (in order to protect us) makes me want to go up and hug every single one of them and personally thank them. These are some true heroes! Side note: I do sometimes hear of some really awful, hideous, almost unbearable situations these guys are called to respond to... If you are really sensitive to these scenarios then this might not be the app for you. I have shut it down a few times when I can feel myself losing hope in humanity. I guess as with most things, balance is the key.

The sleep timer is now upgraded so that it can be used even if browse away from the screen, change feeds, use other apps, turn off the screen, or lock the device. By default, the sleep timer is set to 10 minutes in the future, so that you can just press "Enable Sleep" to have the audio stop after 10 minutes. Or you can edit the sleep time yourself to a different time for up to 24 hours into the future. There have been reports from a few users where they're still seeing ads after paying for the app. If that applies to you, please read the FAQ on the website on how to restore your purchase and remove the ads. The Pro+ subscription remains optional.
