AccessNow is sharing accessibility information about places around the world.
Search for specific places like a restaurant, hotel or store, or browse the map to see what is nearby with the accessibility features you require. If info isn’t already on our map, you can add it yourself and contribute to our worldwide community. Filter the map by category and tags and find the access that you need now.
Ratings and Reviews
I was super excited to download this app and have been working to add as many pins in my city as I can. There are hardly any pins other than my own for my city, and I’m finding it to be kind of glitchy. Some of my reviews show up (generally the positive), and others are no where to be found. I also find that interaction with the map and location become “stuck” or “glitch” rendering the app unusable.
Still hopeful and I’ll keep working on my end to see that others can find my accessibility experiences useful to them!
Disclaimer: I am able bodied.
I downloaded this app after seeing a video because I thought I could use my able-bodiedness to visit some locations and scope out their accessibility. Some other people are complaining that it's all in Toronto. The creators are from Toronto, so it makes sense that there is much more Toronto content, but this is a crowd sourced app. Add locations near you! That bar down the street with a ramp and accessible bathrooms- put it in. This feature works, you just have to search for it on the map and then add.
Amazing concept, not well executed
When I saw a video for this app, I was so excited to check it out. The app pulled up the map with my current location but wouldn't let me review anywhere but places in Toronto. Unless I'm visiting Toronto, this app is useless. You need to find a way for users to write reviews based on their current location, if not rename the app to Access Toronto because the ads were misleading. Please make this app functional for all locations because it is such an amazing idea. As a twenty year old wheelchair user, I have already found half of the places in my college town aren't accessible and it would be amazing if I could share this information for future students. Keep working on the app! You are definitely on to something.
