Fan of affinity

I have owned affinity for a long time. I loved it so much I bought it for windows, mac and ipad for designer and photo. So I spent close to $240 for affinity. I completely understand companies charging for upgrades, and have no issues with that. For me, I use affinity on a daily basis and whenever my computers have a major update, I need to be able to update my software as well. So yes, I had to spend over $120 for the update, BUT this covers ALL 3 platforms - windows, mac, and ipad, with Designer, Photo and Publisher, which for me is now including an additional software.

I am still happy with the update. I am sure there won't be another paid update for a couple of years and now that they have all 3 platforms on the same type of system the future paid updates shouldn't cost as much.

Don't be dismayed by others complaining about this company/software. Its a great company, the software is far more userfriendly compared to adobe and is still far cheaper. I look forward to using this software for many more years!

General Media Hobbist....

Serif wants the business of those who have some disposable income to purchase tools they're not using for a primary source of income so.....screw Adobe. I certainly don't even know a quarter of what this can do but what I do know is that it is intuitive for how many functions it has. In 2 hours I figured out how to manually adjust exposure/brightness ect, automatically adjust those, use a few blemish correction tools, crop, etc. Some of that time was also spent deciding which photos I was going to use from my shoot and I'm not new to Serif but experienced in photo editing. I've dabbled about a decade ago and that is on the generous side.

Frustrating Application for Photoshop Veterans

Arg, this application is frustrating. I was entranced by the chance to have a local copy of the design apps that appear to be like the A**** applications that I used in grfx desing and production.
Things that really frustrate me are that the app saves in it's own file format by default and then you have to go back and convert them to whatever file you need, jpg, pdf, png.. Trying to professionally color correct and repair photos is sooooo frustrating. Why can't I drop mutliple targets on Hi Lo areas for color correcting? I can only put "1" target down, come on... I just want to be able to access something from a menu (or keystroke), not have to go to the floating/docked palette and try to figure out what it all means. I should be able to go to a menu/edit/color and change a photo to cymk/rgb/grayscale/bw...I want this relationship to work. Surely you can make some things work better without risk of copyright infringement, there needs to be better UI/Workflow interface. Get a high-end user to sit down with the programmer and get some things improved. Please?!
