Ahoy Map Maker 4+

The map is very effective and simple to use. If there was a feature request it would be these two things: 1. I wish we could save the lines and texts in layers on top of the map. That way you could go back and edit, move, delete etc the object. 2. Zooming in reveals more details, unfortunately you can't export your full view of the map. Say I highlighted an area zoomed in that would fit fine on a 13x19 printout-currently I can only export what is visible on screen, would be nice to export the zoomed in details in wider view.

I purchased this because I have felt that the maps app included in MacOS has gone backward in the last couple of releases. It is the only reason I havent upgraded from Catalina. In short, a couple of improvements could make this a great app. #1 - User determined margines around the map. #2 - The ability to add a thin single or double line frame around the map itself. Other than those, I really like the ease and simplicity of this program.

Ahoy Map Maker is a small, limited mapping system. What it does, it does well, but there is much that it needs. For example, if you create a label you can't set the background. If you create a map point, you can't show its name.

You can only export JPEGs, unless you print to a PDF. If you do that, you can't pick the area to print only the whole screen. For free or for $5, it's not a bad deal.
