We started our service plan with AHS After our first year builder’s warranty expired. It’s been a relief having it because this past summer, after three years, we had an issue with our AC that was rectified at the cost of $125 instead of $800 - $1200. Everything about the experience was great including submitting the service request, live video chatting with the triage technician, scheduling the in home repair visit and the very knowledgeable, experienced and efficient technician who came to my home to make the repair. Completing an estimated 4 hour job in less than 2 hours. Keep up the good work AHS and your selection of services suppliers is impressive!

I participated in the HVAC upgrade program in November 2024. I (naively) assumed that the upgrade would include a selection of ENERGY STAR-certified products. This was important because I wanted more efficient equipment, and because I wanted to submit for $1200 in federal tax rebates, which would have made the upgrade more affordable (otherwise I would have waited/not upgraded). I was never provided the energy efficiency information on the product choices and it wasn't until they came for the install that I learned the products were not at the EE level that qualifies for the tax rebates. American Home Shield passed this issue on to front door pro, who also did nothing about it. Fast forward to June 2025. I'm finally able to use the AC portion of the upgrade and it runs the entire night and isn't cooling. I call AHS, who again punts it to front door pro, who informs me that it's beyond the 6month recall period, so I have to pay a service fee to have it fixed. I already pay a ridiculous amount per month for coverage, plus the thousands of dollars I shelled out for this upgrade. Ridiculous.Long story short, find your own qualified HVAC contractor and do it all through them. And if they don't inform you of all the available utility and federal tax rebates available to you to support your upgrade, then you don't want to work with that contractor.

When you pick one service like plumbing and they go out and they take out money out of your bank account and I don’t replace it because you’re only asking for one service but I think you’re picking many services each time you pick a sink if you pick up your washer drainwhen it’s anything to do with plumbing is the main pipe under the house if it’s clogged up, they need to have somebody come and work on it They say they could do stuff in 48 hours. They can get you a vendor in 48 hours and get it done and taken care of so why does it take them almost 7 days to 14 days to get a vendor and not only that they say they can’t get a local vendor because all the local vendors will not reply to their messages home shield is good at certain things when my plumbing need to work two years ago it took him four days but now it’s taking them up to 8 to 9 days to find a vendor why does it take home shield so long to find somebody that can do the work for them and all the way that they take money out of your account before the vendor even is scheduled to come and work on your problem

I’ve been a loyal, paying customer for over 3 years and never needed to use the service—until now. When my dishwasher stopped drying properly, I turned to them thinking the process would be easy and helpful. Instead, it has been a complete nightmare.I have a child with medical needs and supplies that require clean, dry dishes, and despite that urgency, they’ve refused to resolve the issue. They’ve sent five different technicians, each one seemingly less competent than the last. Wrong parts were ordered multiple times, and to make things worse, they mistakenly closed my work order—forcing me to start the process from scratch.After 6 months of back-and-forth, the dishwasher is still not fixed. For what I’ve paid over the years, I could have replaced the appliance many times over. I followed the proper channels in good faith, but the lack of accountability and basic support is unacceptable.
