As a Setapp customer for macOS, and now, iOS, this is by far the best product to hit the bundle in recent history. A true all in one solution that seamlessly and expediently, handles all of the the top, most important and utilized features in a video editing app and captioning app.Not only does it do it all, it executes super accurately, quickly and while maintaining the cleanest UI I’ve ever seen among comparable products. My only critique is not knowing this app existed sooner!

While I’m not a fan of the 3-day trial or the payment plans, this is an app if you’re looking for something straightforward and simple. You don’t need to be an expert to use it, and everything runs smoothly. I highly recommend you give this app a try, for it is a HUGE LIFESAVER! The only downside are what I stated before. The trial days need to be extended for a solid 7, but the payment plans? LISTEN. I get the reasoning for 2 of them, but the payment plan per week is a MAJOR BUMMER. From a marketing perspective, most people would turn this away, which is a shame considering the app has SO MUCH POTENTIAL and has been AMAZING so far. Ideally it make sense to have it as a monthly charge. The price of 3.99 is GREAT, but not per week. Other than that, PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS APP AND GIVE IT A SHOT! It’s better compared to most other apps at the moment.

I had Googled for “caption app for iPhone Reddit” and found this nice Reddit user who made an app that auto generates captions. Since I like supporting individuals making nice and functional things, I gave it a try and it was perfect. I didn’t need to edit it at all which was quite honestly impressive. With Instagram transcription there are ALWAYS stupid issues and editing the mistakes is a gosh darn nightmare. This app is great and I hope they can continue to work on it and make more cool and nice apps that actually function. Seems like a low bar but the reality is that the big companies make really bad apps. Apparently, we have to wait around for someone who is both frustrated enough AND smart enough to make a solution that benefits the rest of us who are just frustrated and not smart. Thanks!

This app is extraordinarily good at what it does. Whatever text-to-speech engine it's using is phenomenal at capturing natural speech and punctuating it correctly. It has terrific display options that allow you to choose font, screen position, and style of the subtitles with a great deal of flexibility. When the text-to-speech engine does get something wrong, which it does shockingly rarely if the audio is clear, there's a simple, easy-to-use UI for fixing the errors and adjusting the timeline. I don't need an app like this very often, but in my limited testing it's been exceptionally good. If I needed it more frequently, such as for professional use, the subscription prices are a steal.

I decided to take a three day trial to check how good it is and if it’s true to what it claims. The first thing I noticed was the app is slow, especially on the Mac. There is an option of local transcription, but that is not very smooth and the transcription keeps getting stuck. The accuracy of transcription is not as good as you would expect. There are several places where the transcript escapes text or does not transcribe correctly. There are options of manual correction but I think there are other models in the market the transcribe much better. Finally, the trial is limited to just three days, which is somewhat limited. The developer has been launching some improvements in the past, but I think there is some way to go before this becomes a polished app. For now, I decided not to subscribe.

I do long form videos with nuanced language elements, and this app is by far the best I’ve used (and I’ve tried A LOT). The accuracy of the auto-generated subtitles (in English) is phenomenal. It is easy to use. And it can handle videos that are up to an hour long! The cherry on top of the sundae, is the level of customer service received when I have issues or concerns is unmatched. To be able to connect with the developer in real time is pretty incredible (and virtually unheard of). I cannot recommend this app enough.
