This seems pretty scammy to me. I downloaded Tablo for free through a promotional offer so I suppose I should praise the app, but I won’t. My first disappointment was to learn that the developers load the app with only sixty minutes of recording time. Additional minutes can be purchased at the following rates: 60 mins - $1.99, 120 mins - $2.99, 300 mins - $5.99. All that is on top of the $7.99 initial cost of the app. Moreover, there appears to be an additional expenditure if the buyer wishes to share transcriptions, export with email and PDF, iCloud sync or create custom vocabulary. (This was touted as free to me for responding to the promotion, so the normal cost of this “premium upgrade” was not revealed.) The worst part of this rather costly translation app is that it apparently doesn’t translate TO English. Yup, it can translate from, say, Russian to Korean, but there exists no option to provide an English translation. Not only is the app useless to me after burning through an hour of recording (I will not be purchasing extra minutes), but I felt obliged to use precious free time to write this review, warning strangers of its ongoing costs.

In the App Store “Tablo - AI Transcription” Information shows under In-App Purchases - Yes. When you click on that to see more information it says: Pro Account $0.00, 300 Minutes $5.99, 120 Minutes $2.99, and 60 Minutes $1.99. To use this App for any purposes, the transcription is charged by the minute. The 300, 120, and 60 Minutes pricing listed is correct. However, the Pro Account $0.00” for Minutes is NOT correct! Whether the developer has wittingly or unwittingly made this deception, either way, please be aware that when you purchase a Pro Account, unlimited or free minutes is NOT a benefit! There is no way to use this App other than to buy Minutes as detailed above! Even though I have the Pro Account, I am deleting the App right now! I can’t afford the Minutes!

This program is not what it should be. I wanted a good transcription program and this looked great. And with a special deal to upgrade to pro I figured that would be fine however, pro doesn’t really add much and if you have pro you should have unlimited minutes for transcribing. Not the case here. They charge a ridiculous amount for minutes to make transcriptions. Could be a five star app if pro included unlimited minutes for transcribing. Seems to be a big switch app.

I read the review awhile back complaining about being lured by free pro account and ended up realizing that you still need to pay for minutes to use this app and that no where in the app description mentioned anything about charging by the minutes. So it’s my turn to get lured and it’s true. Unless u wanna pay by the minute to use the app, else don’t bother. Deleting without even using it.

Even with the pro upgrade, you still have to pay per minute. Comes with 60 minutes free but after that, if you use this a lot it could get pricy. They should have a monthly cost, not per minute cost. I’ll find an alternative solution. Deleting.

This app disappoints. It’s paid app - but then only includes 60 minutes of transcription without paying more. Not mentioned in description. Plus - no translations to English - only from English.
