Air Manager let’s you create custom flight simulator instrument panels on your iPad, and is compatible with the three most popular flight simulators. Use your iPad as a primary instrument panel and have your computer monitor for outside view only, or use your iPad as a secondary com stack to easily set frequencies through the iPad touch screen. Air Manager comes with more than 400 free instruments, which are generally compatible with all 3 simulators. Add, drag, scale, build your instrument panel in only a matter of minutes. Save your created panels, and switch between them quickly.
No difficult settings or downloading and configuring of third party applications. You can download the necessary plugins from our website for free. We offer a complete solution!
Place instruments anywhere you like
Tap an instrument to add it to the canvas, hold and drag to rearrange, and pinch to scale, it’s as easy as that.
Loads of free instruments
The application comes with more than 400 free instruments, and this collection keeps growing.
Buttons, Switches and Knobs
Controls like Buttons, Switches, and Knobs let you control the simulator from your 2D panels, so your Flight Simulation is super realistic. Setting a radio frequency or the altimeter setting, moving electrical switches, and controlling the autopilot are just a few examples of what you can do without directly accessing the flight simulator.
Multiplatform and multi simulator
The Air Manager plugin runs on Microsoft Window, Mac OSX, and Linux, both 32 bits and 64 bits, and is compatible with Laminar Research X-Plane 9, 10 and 11, Microsoft FSX and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D.
- Improved side panel, instruments are now grouped per aircraft.
- Added way to change the background colour of a panel
- Added instruments from the Air Manager desktop version
- Fixed crash on iOS 13.
- Fixed crash when starting the G1000 bezel
Ratings and ReviewsSee All
Amazing choice of instruments, and they generally work very well in my Saitek hardware panel - kudos!
Some control grouping would be helpful, although the Search is of great help.
Control resizing can be somewhat frustrating, it should be easier to resize a control to precisely match the size of another on the panel. Resizing should work from all corners of a control, not just from its center.
User-created panels should be duplicatable so as to create customized variations.
The control menu should be accessible in another way as the swipe idea is sabotaged by a hardware mask/bezel in front of the iPad in my panel - offering a control to access the Menu would help to get around that.
Removed controls only disappear after restarting the app.
Some of the controls crash the app (e.g. the generic GPS MFD) - when that happens, the only way to get back into the app without losing work is right after launch quickly swipe from left to right to call the “Showing” menu and delete the crashing control.
Some of the controls shouldn’t be in this app (like those “This GPS overlay works on the desktop only”-G1000 or the GNS430), and some are dead out of the box (e.g. Challenger 300 Standby display).
Despite all the issues I have to say this app provides great functionality and makes my sim actually useable and useful by enabling me to fully hide the software cockpit on the sim screen and control everything from my hardware panel.
iPad Pro crash - new update bugs
Just downloaded the new update tried to open, crashes on start up now unable to use at all until a bug fix is done right away. Please fix the bugs. Disappointed.
Finally got the crashing fixed, unfortunately had to clean remove the app and do a fresh install, with that I lost all my custom panels I created which is a pain to rebuild. Next update should be able to save your custom panels with iCloud so you do not lose custom instrument panels.
Also some transponder buttons don’t work.
Would be great to see a quality C182 panel too.

Wow, simplified custom panel
Our flight club's simulator needed an upgrade (assembled 7 years ago) but I was dreading the job because the instrument panel was a custom layout on two touch screens (resistive type) which took me weeks to figure out and get working correctly. But then I happened upon Air Manager and my enthusiasm changed.
Installation was a bit challenging at first because I was unsure of what I was doing. But after an email to the company things became clear. Support response was a few hours which is quite good.
I purchased their desktop version as well as the iPad version so to better know my options for the sim upgrade. The cool thing is that both versions can both use the same plugin and can both be run at the same time. Suddenly the options for a very functional panel were many, and easy to implement.
On the old sim I had fabricated an overlay with physical digital knobs just so we could adequately control the instruments. It worked but was clunky an made layout modifications impossible. In contrast, the touch implementation on both the iPad and desktop version work so well that physical knobs are not needed.
I look forward to see how this product continues to improve in the future.
