AirDraw - Finger Paint 4+

Just spent an evening with my family taking turns dressing each other up with swords and hats and wings and casting it to the TV so everyone could see.
We then put a ton of little marbles on the ground and knocked them around in physics mode. The creativity and fun playing together with this cool art app is fantastic. I hope they continue to add features. Runs really smooth after adjusting the sensitivity so it would not break the lines. We had a ton of drawing/balloons, what ever you want to call them, all over are living room and there was no lag or drop in performance. Kudo’s to the developers!!!

With a pinch of your fingers, you can draw throughout your space. Your non-drawing hand is the pallet, which controls the color, brush size, and other settings. You can change between left and right handed drawing in the settings.

There are a few small issues that I notice:
1. After alternating through a few colors, I became stuck on the color black. Restarting the app fixed this.
2. I wasn’t able to rename my saved images. They are all called “untitled”.
3. When you re-open the image, it seems to position relative to your current location. So, if you were to decorate a room in a particular way, you would always need to reload in the same spot each time to keep the artwork in place. Perhaps there could be an option to save the location differently.

Overall, it was really cool to twist ribbons of paint in a 3d space. I liked how shiny the colors were. Some paints even bounce. Looking forward to see how this app evolves!

As a person coming from Gravity Sketch using controllers for input, this app low key sorta exposes the shortcomings of Apple's hand based tracking where it can only work so well under certain conditions. The drawing works sometimes and even after adjusting some of the settings it still isn’t reliable enough for me to choose it over something like Gravity Sketch.

If this app at some point had options to connect to a bluetooth controller like the Switch Joycons for more accurate and reliable inputs rather than using pinch gestures, then I think that would vastly improve the drawing experience.
