Description

Airlines Manager Tycoon finally has its own livery creation app (which refers to aircraft paint job in aeronautical terminology)!
Now you can customize and decorate your aircraft by drawing unique liveries in the image of your airline!

Whether you are an artist and aviation enthusiast or a lover of beautiful liveries, Airlines Painter is accessible to all thanks to its simple and full-featured interface.

You will have many tools at your disposal to paint every part of your aircraft such as brush of variable size, straight line, paint bucket and palette from which you can precisely pick the colors you want thanks to the color picker.

The layer system enables you to organize paint layers as you wish! There is also plenty of choice for final touches with a library full of stickers you can broaden by uploading your own pictures! Not to mention the text tool will be useful to write catchy slogans on your planes.

Your imagination will be your only limit!

Once done, your liveries can be saved on your phone memory as well as on the cloud and imported so they can fit each one of your aircraft.

Export your liveries to your Airlines Manager account and cover the sky with a fleet in your image!

Good Idea in Practice

The premise is easy, make liveries for your aircraft in Airlines Manager. The first problem is while logging in, you can’t easily choose if you want to have your professional or tycoon account. You need to open Airlines Manager and then go to the one you want to log in to and only then can you actually open the one you want to have. The ideas are good apart from that, but the stickers have some problems. First off you can’t resize or rotate them, meaning if you have a large size difference in your fleet that you want to have the same livery, you have lots of empty space on your 787-9 but have no space on your Q-400. I want to be able to size down my airline’s name and the other stickers. Also with the text feature sometimes it just glitches out and has random characters in a large box that you have to logout and back in to fix. In addition, on the load screen this will sometimes happen with your liveries. This add on was a good idea, but not the best execution. For one last idea, there is a wait timer of 15 days before you can add another one of your liveries. I understand why but if I’m trying to execute the same livery on all my different planes, this would take weeks or months. To keep the premise, that could be decreased to 3-5 days as there is no other reason for AirlinesPainter if you can’t use your liveries in Airlines Manager.

Good app, but too restrictive

I enjoy the painting and I feel it’s easy enough to design what you want and import it to the game. I’m frustrated with the fact that you need to make a design for each type of plane. Part of being an airline is to have “team colors” on your planes and it’s frustrating that we are unable to apply the same livery to all of our planes (no matter the type of plane). Instead of only allowing two designs to be imported (aka only two types of planes with designs); still restrict the limit to two liveries but allow them to be applied to all planes.

Another frustration centers around the import option (where you import one previously created design to another plane). It doesn’t work. It just maps the same design over the new plane (which if they have the same length and height works fine). But if you are going from a 747 to a Q400 (or from one plane to a different plane), it’s a pointless feature. As far as I can tell, all of the planes available have two wings and one tail so why not just work the livery to where it scales down starting from the nose to the tail and the wings. Maybe this is harder to do than it seems..

Developer Response ,

Hello seans88, thank you for your comment. As each aircraft model is different in size and proportions, no tool can automatically adapt a unique design to a variety of aircraft without deforming it. That's why you will have to adapt the livery to each model manually. To do so, save your initial livery, open a new project with the aircraft you want and use the IMPORT button to import your livery. Then, you may have to resize and move the different parts of your livery so it fits the new aircraft. Cheers, Thomas.

I like it, but it feels incomplete

Let me start by saying that I have never played the web version of AM. I’ve been playing on iOS for only a week. I’m very new so maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about.

I’ve really enjoyed AM. This game has a lot of depth and detail, and I appreciate that. I plan on continuing to play it indefinitely.

While I cannot speak on other versions of Airlines Manager, I do feel that this one needs some work. The amount of information available can overwhelm a new player quickly. There is much to learn and far too little guidance.

The guided tours are great, but they never seem to explain the mechanics behind what they are demonstrating. As I completed each tour, I felt that I was learning which buttons to push but not how or why I needed to push them.

In addition, the help section leaves much to be desired. I noticed the notes saying that work was being done, so fair enough.

Thank you for a game I thoroughly enjoy. I hope you continue to refine and improve the game, it does have much potential.
