I tried Airmail several years ago but went with a different product. I abandoned the other product over a pricing issue, and I went to Apple Mail on my Mac Mini, my iPhone, and my iPad. Now I have switched to Airmail obn all three devices.I'm very happy with Airmail. Its features make it worth the price. I am semi-retured but still working. Airmail fulfills my needs for two Gmail accounts and an iCloud mail account.Two complaints, however:1. The search box used to search for emails does not allow use of phrases, just single words. While the search box has lots of capabilities, this reliance on just single-word search terms limits the specific search I can invoke.2. I'm very happy that signatures can use HTML coding. But I'd like the option to set signatures for each of my three accounts across all my devices, i.e., the Mac Mini, the iPad, and the iPhone.Also, the onboarding process was confusing. For a while,. after I paid for an upgrade to my subscription, I still received notices regularly asking me to purchase the upgrade I had already chosen and paid for, This was annoying and required an email interaction with AirMail support.

Update: I don’t know if this app has been abandoned – I tried to seek support via their online chat function – and I received a reply to seek support via the Apple Review process. But I see the app has not been updated for 6 months. My mail folders disappear every time the Mac goes to sleep and shortcuts stop working. I then have to quit the app to bring the folders back – and make the shortcuts work – until the next time the Mac goes to sleep. It’s getting old. And now, my attempt at receiving support actually hung the App Store App. I have been using Airmail on and off for Mac and iOS for years now. The off is always because of problems where I just stop using it because I cannot take it anymore. Random messages missing from the inbox, but when I open webmail, it is there. Random messages just reappaearing in the inbox despite having been deleted or moved (not snoozed), and speaking of which, snoozed messages just disappearing all together. I thought the annual premium would help correct these issues and return AirMail to the excellent email handler it used to be – but if anything, it seems to be getting worse. And I just cannot work that way. I pretty much operate my work life via email, and these random missing emails are just unacceptable. It's a pity too, because there really was nothing to equal it.

I purchased the app when it was a paid app. That included features like seeing Gmail labels in the message browser and not being hounded by pop-ups for a subscription. Now features are gone, and the app bombards me with ads for a subscription. If Bloop wants to shift toward a subscription model because they have found that to be a more sustainable business model, that’s fine and fair. What isn’t fair and what isn’t okay, is pulling the rug out from under customers and then bombarding them with the subscription pop-up and taking away features that were already paid for, and now requiring a subscription to get them back. To do right by their customers, they could assign a one-time purchase to customers that entitles them to the features they already paid for, but that doesn’t receive any new features. Or, if deciphering which users would be entitled to those features would be too difficult, then they should resort this version of the app to is previous state (pre-subscription), and then upload a new app to the App Store that operates on a subscription model. If they can’t do either of those things, as someone who supported Bloop before and participated in beta tests, I don’t think Bloop is worth trusting as a developer anymore.

I have about 15 email addresses that I have setup with this application. The app itself is great but I like to see a list of all the accounts, like in the iOS app where you see the actual email addresses in a list. The desktop app does provide that functionality, instead you get all the icons in the lower left which represent each email account. This is not really helpful. My workaround is to click the All icon and show the list in the second column. However sporadically I will see a flash of the list of accounts and then they disappear. They are there but not shown. If I click in the black space it will actually take me to that account but you have no idea of what you’re clicking on. Changing the theme and then restarting the app seems to bring back the list but only for a short time then I have to change the theme again.Also need to mention that support is basically non-existent. On their website the Live Support button just directs you to leave feedback here. I was trying to get help with this problem 3 weeks ago with the Live Support but it’s only response was “Please use the Apple Review System to leave feedback”
