Functional-but complexity is somewhat excessive in terms of layout and navigation of features…

BCBS of AL is easy to do anything and everything except updating your address and the only inconvenience is that submitting claims manually on the app requires pdf format of documents and records/receipts for reimbursement and is complex and time consuming, otherwise it functions as a simple and straightforward process that is easy to navigate through and has a good layout for dealing with everything from payments to OOP cost review and even a way to see what medications and doctors are in network and covered under the policy.

The app works just like the website, which for me so far has been pretty cut and dry, easy to use. I had a question for customer support and they got back to me early morning the next business day with an answer to the question I actually asked (which isn’t true for a lot of customer supports out there). I love that my ID card is there in a digital format in case I don’t have the physical card. I docked it one star for the slow slow load screens, that’s the only issue I can see as of yet.

Physician Stats

Just downloaded and have been messing with it. You can see in-network providers and they have their stats in # of procedures done as well as how sick their patients were! If you select the procedure a mini window pops up and is like “patients by this physician for this procedure were on average 20% sicker than other in network providers.” That’s DEFINITELY going to play into picking my physician! When selecting a physician the map doesn’t move so you have to kinda pick around it which is annoying, if it was more phone compatible would rate 5/5.

All my claims keep getting denied

If I didn’t have to get this insurance through work I would have something else. I keep getting the run around as to what info they need on this claim or that claim none of my behavioral health prescriptions or services. Might not be an app problem but American Health Insurance is a joke, a problem, and expensive to be denying all these claims. Plus I can’t just put in Methadone Clinic and find one in Network I get 2,000 irrelevant services I’m not looking for. I’m so sick of this insurance and I bought the most pricey option thinking I’d be taken care of between what I pay and what the company I work for matches. For profit healthcare is useless if it’s not an emergency or easy. Thank you again for nothing.
