Alice Beyond Wonderland 9+

more enjoyable

Not great enough for 5 stars but definitely good enough for 4.5. Liked this game a bit better than Alice Trapped in Wonderland. Really appreciated the fast travel feature--it was something severely lacking in their other games, especially with all the back-and-forthing you must do. I would have preferred less of the back and forth. Liked the twist of being able to change seasons later in the game. The biggest problem I had was with the games ending--it seemed overly abrupt and I'd have liked a cut scene or a couple of graphics showing the reunion of Alice and friends. And there are still too many weird language problems, some of which aren't that big a deal but some that are much worse. With all of the games from this dev, they should have found a good translator by this time.

Unable to complete

This game started out good, but became increasingly cumbersome as I advanced. Lots of clicking and backtracking - there is a “fast” travel option, but it requires just as much time and clicking as the regular method. The inventory bar and the back button are in the same location, so when I tried using an item I often got taken back a screen instead. Inventory items don’t disappear once they are no longer needed. The hint system is difficult to use and doesn’t give any clues as to what action(s) to take next or which season has tasks to complete. The inverted seasons didn’t add anything to the game, just increased the cumbersome feeling.

I’m unable to complete the game because I can’t obtain the glue needed for the sun pieces. According to the hints, I’m supposed to use the pickaxe to knock out some bricks and find a seed to plant. But I knocked out the bricks and instead of finding a seed, it tells me there is nothing there and that someone must have been there before me. Maybe I did something out of order...but I wouldn’t know because the hints are not helpful in this way.

Hi, we are sorry to read that you are unable to complete the game, Maybe we needed to be more clear on that puzzle, there is a note inside the Vine Yard that explains that a squirrel stole the seed for autumn, to get the seed you need to go to that same location in autumn and the seed must be there, if you need more detailed help yo can visit our web site , Good Luck!

Excellent point, click, puzzle app

As others have suggested, I would rate this a 5 star, but I try not to use that except for the MOST brilliant events.

I am not a heavy user of these sorts of games, but I do enjoy them.

The first few levels are ‘simple’ enough to allow one to enter the game and begin exploring and deducing. Some puzzles are ‘easy’, others are down right confounding. Without a secondary site offering the answers, I might well have walked away.

So, challenging enough for a beginner to start, challenging enough for an expert to enjoy.

The Quick Travel option is greatly appreciated and useful.

Also nice is that when a puzzle is solved the ‘box’ opens, you do NOT have to step back and then come back forward and confirm the puzzle is solved and the ‘box’ has opened.

The feature that disturbs me is the proximity of the tool bag to the ‘back arrow’ and the need to always close the tool bag before being able to change scenes - although, the tool bag must be open to access the map which allows one quickly change scenes.
