Ratings and Reviews
Not What I Was Expecting
I’m just playing this game, so these are my first thoughts.
I remember how they made an Avatar game for the iPad a while back, which was really fun to play, and not to mention that you even got to play as the character himself. Sure, it defied continuity, but it was so fun that I didn’t actually care.
I thought that this game would be like that, given how James Cameron helped make the movie, but it was nothing like what it thought.
1) You don’t play as Alita herself.
The summary said this itself, but it’s still kind of disappointing. Then again, given the type of RPG this is, it’s probably for the best, since it’s weird to have a million of the same characters running around. (Making a jab at the SAO and Naruto MMORGs, where everybody’s Kirito/Naruto or something.
2) Lack of character creation.
It’s funny how I just commented on the oddity of a million Alitas running around when the characters you’re selecting isn’t that different. I thought we could at least build our own characters, but that’s apparently not a thing. Kinda takes away the fun of an RPG when everyone looks the same.
3) Basic MMORPG Game
Like other similar MMORPGs, you run around in a very limited platform, hacking and slashing enemies.
So far though, the game isn’t completely boring and bland, so I’ll keep giving it a try, if only out of my love for Alita. Perhaps I’ll change my comment once I delve deeper.
Darn - Just a mediocre brawler
Was really hoping for a tie-in to the wonderfully vibrant world of the film and manga. First impression is that this is just a so-so hack-and-slash without any meaningful attachment to the world. Considering the wealth of visual source material, I’m surprised they didn’t come close to at least wrapping this in a better visual skin. I suspect they plucked a generic, post-apocalyptic game engine from the heap of those available and just slapped some AlIta splash screens around it. Also, considering the film was in production for decades, you would think they could have crafted a tie-in game with the same amount of passion that Cameron put into the film. I would have paid up-front for that. No need for all the free-to-play tropes that we all loathe these days. A motorball game sure seems like a no-brainer, rather than an RPG - and I use the term RPG very loosely. Sorry, this is a flat miss.
Developer Response ,
Dear players, thank you very much for your valuable suggestions. We'll pass your feedback to our R&D, and hope that they can be adopted in the coming updates.
Very very disappointing
This is the most disappointing game I can’t even get past the title screen. It always says coming soon. But wait theres more I pre ordered the game. And yea it said the same thing as everyone else has been saying on the reviews at the moment it says coming soon. It said a hole bunch of thing before “coming soon”. It even gave me a server opening time utc 09:00 I’m in the eastern time zone so I used the time conversation on “google”. But I deleted the game and waited a while before I reinstalled it and it still says the same thing it did before I deleted it which was “coming soon”. I hope that the game gets fixed but it more than likely won’t. If it ends up working then I will take everything back. P.S. people don’t download this game because every download gives the developer money yea he/ she would update the game but it’s a way to keep it hope up so that way he can keep getting money. p.s I have already posted a review and they deleted it.
