If you're studying Mandarin Chinese, this is the pinyin chart for you. It's the only pinyin chart for the iPad to make full use of zooming and panning controls to make pinyin study easy and enjoyable. The interface is simple, clean, and ad-free. Every pinyin syllable has audio associated, and toggling between the four different tones of Mandarin Chinese is easy.

More advanced students of Chinese will enjoy the pinyin chart's support for alternate phonetic representations of Mandarin Chinese. The app comes with support for the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) for free, but other romanization systems like Wade-Giles, as well as alternate representations like zhuyin (used in Taiwan) are available by in-app purchase.

Does not the “root” sounds.

Does not have basic sounds for b, p, m, f, and etc.
Does not have basic sounds for a, e, i, o, u, ai, ao, and etc.
Only have the combinations of sounds like ba, pa, ma, fa, bai, pai, and etc.
It would be awesome to sound out each basic root sound first, and sound out the blends (like in doing English phonics) and show how the combinations came about. Especially for harder sounds like shao, shou, shuo, xiao and etc. That will makes a lot of more sense when learning pin-Yin.
All said this is the best pin-yin app I have come across.

Useful and accurate.

Useful, and the most accurate of the pinyin apps out there (they all differ a bit!).

One bug: at least on the iPhone X and iOS 11, the secondary text setting is not saved. I have to re-choose it every day. Please fix this and I will rate the app 5 stars.

Must Have, All Around Amazing

The only gripe I have/has is that I had to delete then reinstall due to an audio glitch. That being said the voiceover is very well done, the add-on(s) seem legit, it’s extremely informative, and I love the fact that it can be used offline. If you’re looking for a Pinyin chart this is what you need
