Advanced Altitude Management for Pilots.

Integrated with a pilot designed flexible alerting system and VNAV (Vertical Navigation), AltitudeAlert is the first App to bring advanced altitude management to ALL pilots.

VNAV gives you unparalleled control of altitude. Use VNAV to define precisely HOW, WHEN and WHERE you want to be at a certain altitude. With customizable settings, you define how VNAV will work.

ALT HOLD Mode is specifically designed for VFR pilots requiring virtually no setup. Just tap the button and AltitudeAlert will monitor your current altitude. This mode is great for student pilots, formation flying, and pilots of vintage, ultralight, and light sport aircraft with minimal instrumentation.

Never miss an altitude assignment again. Set the altitude and AltitudeAlert alerts you prior to reaching it and again when you acquire it. Spoken alert announcements are customizable. Choose from a single chime or chime plus altitude remaining.

Need to shoot an approach? No problem! Set the minimums and AltitudeAlert will alert you 100' above minimums and again at minimums.**

**Barometric sensor required (see SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS below).

FEATURES:

• iPad version runs along side or in the background while using your favorite EFB App, i.e. Foreflight, Garmin Pilot, FlyQEFB, etc.

• VNAV (Vertical Navigation).

• Alerting for supplemental oxygen use for both pilot and passengers.

• Instrument Approach Minimums Alerting.**

**Barometric sensor required (see SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS below).

For devices WITHOUT a barometric sensor, AltitudeAlert uses GPS Altitude based alerting.

Good option

I don’t have altitude preselect in my twin Cessna. This works fairly well especially with my GMA 345 so I almost always hear the call outs. When I slide the app from the right across FF, it works well but is hard to get back to the right off the screen. It’s one tiny spot that works. If this was adjusted would give 5 stars

Developer Response ,

Hi! I'm pleased that you're finding that AltitudeAlert useful. Let me offer a couple of suggestions for you when using the app with an EFB app (Foreflight, Garmin Pilot, etc.). There are two modes available to you that take advantage of iPadOS's Multitasking feature, Split View and Slide Over. From your description, I believe you're utilizing Slide Over. The advantage of Slide Over is that you can slide the app in when you want it, then slide it out to hide it. I agree with you, it can sometimes be difficult to slide it off screen. Unfortunately, this is managed by the iPadOS. Let me suggest you try Split View. This is my preferred way of sharing AltitudeAlert and Foreflight (EFB) on the same screen*. With Split View both apps are always visible and you can adjust the presentation display of the apps to your taste. For example, Foreflight occupying 2/3 of the display while AltitudeAlert occupies the remaining 1/3. Or any other presentation you like. It's completely customizable. I've described this in detail in the User Guide and on the website. If you'd like further assistance I'd be happy to help. Just send me an email to ray@altitudealertapp.com.

* To use Split View, the EFB must support it. At this time, I believe Foreflight is the only EFB that does.
