In this gorgeous twist on the infinite runner, you guide an agile snowboarder down a never-ending mountain, pulling off backflips over icy chasms and grinding along rooftops in sleepy villages. Simple one-finger controls make it instantly accessible, but tackling each level’s trio of challenges requires deft reflexes. With its exquisitely rendered visuals, soothing music, and finely tuned gameplay, Alto’s Adventure is simultaneously serene and exciting.

  • Develop better mechanics!!!

At first, I really loved this game, but after getting much better it becomes very hard to enjoy due to some poor mechanics and graphic design. The rocks are a Huge hindrance on gameplay; besides brim not being well displayed off of the background and being hidden behind the artistic layers, there needs to be some restriction on the placement of them. They seem to pop up way too often in places that make it actually(not me just saying this out of rage) impossible to get over as they are towards the top of an upwards curving slope. The landing mechanics definitely need to be improved as a lot of times when landing either in front of rocks or on ramps, the game will seem to glitch out and cause you to crash. Also it seems as if landing on a steep positive slope(like on a "natural" snow ramp) causes the boarder to crash even though it should be fine. My last major problem that I find becomes more and more prominent as you become better and are able to get longer stretches is that the nighttime dynamic just absolutely is terrible to play in. It becomes too dark to be able to place with pleasure and it also seems as if the dark lasts longer that the pleasurable day which is also unpleasant. Besides these "flaws" I do enjoy the game very much, but please, for the love of God, fix them.

  • Awesome game! One of my all-time favorites for iPhone!

To those frustrated with the wing suit, you can turn off the 3D Touch feature in the menu. As to all the other complaints about everyone being too slow to out run the elders, all the other characters are actually better to out run the elders because of longer based times. You just have to figure out the trick of back flipping off of all of the Little Hills. Izel is the best to outrun the elders. I once had a 105m lead with her. This game is so simple, like In n Out, and that's why it's awesome. The mechanics are very simple, the characters, though silent, are charming and well drawn, and leveling up is extremely rewarding. My one gripe to the developers would be that you have to crash before you're allowed to level up past the level you completed during a run. I would give this game a five star rating if you were to make it so that you could continue to level up on a single run without having to start over again. That is literally my only complaint about the game. And it's not even that big of a deal, so I would still highly recommend it for anybody who wants a nice simple game to relax to. Oh, and did I mention it has a Zen mode? Yeah that's pretty great too. You should get it.

  • Does not deserve the bad reviews.

I’ve seen a couple reviews about the wingsuit activating and deactivating randomly. Let’s clear that up. The wingsuit is toggled through 3D Touch, so when you press hard on the screen it toggles it. There’s also a setting under Settings to turn this behavior off. There will also be a button on the right side of the screen that also toggles it, so turning off the setting will not stop you from using the wingsuit. (The wingsuit is available after level 30, so if the setting isn’t there when you start, maybe it’ll appear once you unlock the wingsuit.) I wish Snowman would reply to the reviews to clear their name, but it doesn’t look like that will happen. That being said, of course I think Alto’s Adventure is a beautiful game. I’m not usually very fond of arcade-like games, but this one has stuck with me for a long time. You’ve probably already heard of the graphics/artwork. It’s also a well-polished game and feels good to play, especially with friends. Look out for new games by Snowman because the previews on their website look good. Development for those games was probably funded by this game’s sales.

  • INCREDIBLE GAME!!!

    theArcophobia

Probably the best iPhone game ever. Sure it costs 4.99 but there are no IAP or ads. Relaxing game with intuitive interface, easy controls, beautiful soundtrack, and beautiful graphics. Only a couple suggestions: 1. Either make items in the Workshop cheaper or add a “coin multiplier” item. This would be a gold star which would spawn like magnets or feathers, and maybe could multiply your coins for a duration. The duration could be upgraded in the shop. These would make the process of getting items cheaper, as it can be kind of annoying to grind for 20 minutes for a helmet that you would waste within the next 5 minutes. 2. Give Izel more special items than just a rocket snowboard. The character says she has a “few special prototypes” but in-game there is only one unique item. 3. Fix some visual bugs. Sometimes, when crashing at high speeds, the character seems to freeze and hover a couple feet above the ground, which looks really weird. Other than these suggestions I think you have created a truly beautiful game. Keep up the good work Snowman!

  • Beautiful Game

    Freaky dud

This is a very beautiful game. The views are amazing while snowboarding down mountains in the sunset. The music is perfect. It is sort of slow, and sets the mood. The one issue that kind of ruins the game is that it does not have too good of a story. Some mexican kid is chasing his llamas down a mountain. That is all we get for the story. Another thing that ruins this game is that it's just another endless runner games, and gets boring very quickly. If you have an apple gift card like I did and you don't really use it, I reccomend this game to you. If you have a small budget and wanna make sure you get something you won't get bored of, don't get this game. The gameplay is okay, but doing backflips are terrible. It takes like two seconds to do a backflip, and most other games it takes like .85 seconds. There is this part where a dude on a horse chases you and I can't figure out how to get past him. The shop has nothing good in it. Only 3 things in it. Coin magnet upgrade, feather upgrade, and some thing that gives you more points. To sum things up, if you want a game that has breathtaking scenery, you are going to have to compromise with gameplay. Please think before you buy.

  • Beautiful game but...

    AllNicknamesAreTaken11

Rocks in concave pits are starting to seriously drive me crazy, since there often isn't anything you can do to avoid them when going fast (trying to complete the lvl 33 "escape 3 elders" goal with Izel right now, for a few hours now). Especially frustrating considering you can only use one helmet per run, and those are consumable (seriously?). I tried switching to other characters, but they have trouble clearing chasms. And everyone but Maya has trouble escaping elders in the first place because she's the only one that can do a backflip on a dime. How fast can those llamas go?Also, various boosts seem to love to run out literally split second before you fly face first into a rock. Especially frustrating with the feather, when you slowly glide into it, unable to do anything to alter the trajectory. Or wingsuit runs out right into a chasm... It's only hilarious the first few dozen times. I guess what I'm getting at is, slightly more intelligent track generation wouldn't hurt.Again, the game overall is beautiful, just wanted to give some gameplay feedback.
