Ratings and Reviews
The app works well, and I get products normally. I feel like you should be able to write a review on your delivery for each package. I was very disappointed when I bought dog food, same day delivery than got an email saying they could not find my apt even though I’ve received numerous packages before even had received one earlier that day. Instead the next day, after me editing my billing address, I get a call from the delivery driver at 8 pm to come outside and receive the 26 pound box of dog food over the fence through sticker bushes because he couldn’t take the 5 minutes to listen to my directions on how to get to my apartment parking lot. Which is clearly described. Mind you, because I relied on this same day delivery and didn’t get same day delivery, I had to go spend $20 more to get my dogs food for the next day. Either same day delivery should be removed, the maps need to be updated (because I have used 3 different gps maps to get to my apts and have Never had issues), or you should be able to review the delivery drivers.
Drag And Drop Feature Removed
One of the main reasons I used this app was to browse items while quickly and easily dragging and dropping them into the wish list of my choosing. Pressing down on an item would also make your wish list tray appear at the bottom of the screen, which could be changed. And to make things extra convenient, the latest items dropped in your wish list would be visible at the bottom of the screen.
The recent update changed the function to touching a heart next to the image of the item and it apparently shows up in your current wish list that is at the bottom of the screen... but it doesn’t automatically show up in the tray unless you view the wish list. Another problem is if you decide to “hide list tray,” it will tell you to just press down on any item to make the list reappear... but it doesn’t. So once you hide it, you can apparently never get it back. After doing so, pressing the heart for an item will just automatically add the item to the latest wish list you have added to. The only way to change the wish list things are added to is by pressing the “add to wish list” button.
Eliminating a function that made it easy and user friendly to shop and save items to wish lists is a big failure on Amazon’s part. I honestly see no real reason to use the app all that much anymore outside of checking my order statuses.
Copying text is no longer possible
Well, I suppose it had to come to this. After it was never possible to copy text in the iPad app, now with the latest update, that feature has been removed from the iPhone app as well. Not exactly sure why it had to be removed, but it’s annoying as heck. Sometimes I want to copy a link in the FAQ of a product or copy specs or the product ID. Now I’ll have to use the browser to do so. Fail.
Another non-working feature is adding and removing of items from the wishlist shown at the bottom of the screen in a separate tray. One was able to long press an item and either add or remove it. Not sure why that feature was removed.
The top idiocy is when trying to provide feedback from within the app. There’s a pop-up stating that you cannot do so unless you have an email associated with your account. The fact that I’m locked into my account doesn’t matter, I suppose. The only place to add an email is in the public section of my profile. Do they really think I’ll do that? What for? If I place an order they don’t insist on me adding that information and I’m still getting the item and all the notifications via email. What more information do they need?
