This app requires the Halo Band.
Amazon Halo measures your movement, sleep quality, body composition, and even the tone of your voice, to provide a more complete picture of your overall health and help you build better habits for life.
• Informed by guidelines from the American Heart Association, Halo measures the intensity of your activity in addition to tracking steps and sedentary time. This means that working harder – for example, taking two stairs at a time, or going for a jog – helps you reach your weekly goals faster.
• Monitor the quality and quantity of your sleep, like how long it takes you to fall asleep, how much you wake up at night, and how long you spend in each sleep stage.
• Halo's Body feature is nearly twice as accurate as leading at-home smart scales.
• Body uses your smartphone’s camera to determine your body fat percentage, a better indicator of health than weight or BMI alone.
• A personalized 3D model helps you track changes over time.
• Build healthier habits through 100+ labs developed by partners like Mayo Clinic, SWEAT, and Headspace.
• These simple, measurable experiments and challenges help you see the impact that small changes can make on the way you feel – like whether meditating improves your focus, or if a pet-free bedroom improves your sleep quality.
TONE OF VOICE ANALYSIS
• Halo analyzes qualities of your voice throughout the day to help you understand how you may sound to others.
• Being more aware of your tone can help you keep your relationships strong at home, at work, and everywhere in between.

Welcoming and minimalistic
This is just my second day using the app and i can confidently say i have been able to navigate easily and have seen all features available with no hassle. The experience is comparable to my experience with garmin, fitbit and apple. As this is a review of the app and the halo band, i do have few suggestions to share. Ability to define microphone power saving features for off peak, idle or sleep timing could potentially save battery life. Integration of the app and the analytics with third party apps like apple health, garmin, strava, etc could also be beneficial as it is very likely people cannot be exclusive to just one health monitor. Data hungry athletes/enthusiasts will usually cycle with 2-3 ecosystems and cross readable data can help either platforms to match or reference usable data for gaps, accuracy and quality. I would use my garmin for my cycling training but would want halo to recognize such efforts or training. Vice versa, i would want my garmin or strava to recognize my halo data for activities requiring HR or temperature readings. User defined sleep times should also help with accuracy. User defined activities list could also be used as reference for the halo OS or AI to prompt user with reminders or suggestions of their intended weekly rides/runs/weight training.
I was looking for a Stress indicating device
I was looking for a device which can help with tracking sleep and overall stress throughout the day. This device is on the right track with all the measurements it’s tracking. While I am unable to see my body temperature yet, the sleep indicator has been accurate and the temperature will only make it better. I have left the tone detection feature on for more often collection and would like to see the app show me the conversations that it used to make those detections, and allow me to suggest what it got wrong for better learning. The labs are also very good, typically personalized short audios about certain topics. I have been looking at the communication articles and have been trying the exercises. Overall this is one the few trackers which does not focus only on movement and adds stress detection. I would like more enhancements on the stress detection features which this already has such as ability to detect power naps or more detailed sleep quality info, and using tone detection along with heart rate and temperature to suggest a stress score at certain points during the day.

Some kinks need to be worked out
I have several issues with this band. The main one being that the sleep portion is entirely inaccurate. The app keeps telling me I’m in either a deep or light sleep when I’m on the couch watching tv then it says I wale up (when I’m cleaning or getting ready for bed) and shows me that I didn't sleep well because I had numerous “awake” times. This obviously makes me question whether the sleep graph of deep, light, and rem sleep is entirely false. It appears as if it shows you all these sleep cycles but they’re entirely random and not actually your sleep- the only way it reads your sleep if when you go to bed and how long you sleep, everything in between is just a generic graph.
The other thing is the voice recognition. I don’t personally see the point of this at all. Yes when my child fell and hit his head my tone did in fact sound worried and concerned.. I don’t see what this gives me. I turned the feature off because I don’t personally see the benefit and it feels intrusive and I worry about why this feature exists at all. It didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know.
On the positive side it’s helping me get in shape- of course having any kind of tracker helps motivate you to move. I’m also liking the body fat scan- it’a good to see yourself from the side and monitor progress.
