I really want to give it 5 stars, but the ios app needs a lot of work. Not only can we not highlight text, we also can't increase the size of the text as far as I can tell. Combine the size of the text with no dark mode on ios and you get a pretty unpleasant experience. I'm coping with "smart invert" for now, but the other limitations remain. I love that the qbank app regardless of device allows you to curate the question bank according to so many customizable parameters. It would also be nice to have some sort of digital notebook to type notes into while studying instead of having to switch apps. I wasn't able to find any other place for step 2 clinical pharmacology, so Amboss is gold. Thank you for providing the world with this service.

Hi, I think amboss is an amazing resource. I am in my preclinical years and this is by far the best bang for your buck. The questions range from easy to hard, and I mean challenging your mind brain hurts hard. The explanations are fabulous and the integration between the library and knowledge is nothing spectacular but gets the job done. The reason why I didn’t give this 5 stars has nothing to do with the quality of amboss but the app doesn’t allow you to highlight key things in the passage which is a super downfall because that’s how I take my tests. Also, I only use my iPad for school so I cannot reap the benefits of using the amboss Anki add on on my iPad, which is disappointing. Overall love the app and recommend it for anyone who wants to challenge themselves and be a better doctor.

The app itself looks great. The layout looks carefully thought out. And has a lot of information. I got it through tan Instagram ad and read the reviews. I would love to try it out. But I am only a high school student. I play sports as well and do not have time for a job. I want to be an anesthesiologist and I think this app could better my study habits to help me get there. So maybe there could be a free version with add or make some of the content limited and the people with memberships get full access. I don’t know but I would really love to use the app. If not I’d keep the app until Im able to get a job in the future.

I always have this ready to go whenever I’m doing rounds or am sitting in lecture waiting for questions to be asked - so much easier to find info on here than on Up To Date or other similar resources! Sometimes there are tiny discrepancies with first line treatments and diagnostic modalities that my attendings want me to know and that are relevant for shelf exams. Being able to add your own notes to each section is really great when that does happen or if you’re on a specialty rotation that goes farther in depth than the articles do. Just wish there was a way to add our own highlights to notes for study and review purposes

I am a true believer in AMBOSS. I was very weary when they came to my school and said we could get a deal for around $600… It turned out to be some of the best money I’ve spent! Only thing is I wish the two apps for question bank and medical knowledge were integrated, but I can imagine that is a tough thing to do. I have used this consistently since getting it. It was especially helpful in studying for boards as well as on the wards. I highly recommend getting an AMBOSS subscription and I would proudly be an ambassador!

Never do reviews especially for apps. This is a must have for medical student or even residents wanting to not look dumb when reading other specialty notes. Great review right before presenting a patient and good resources of peer reviewed literature for various conditions. It has got more expensive which I am hesitant to continue but if you have the money great resource. They also have a Q bank which people love but I can barely do UWORLD so I don’t use it much. They should add an orthopedic exam like they have for other specialties.

This is unequivocally the best platform for learning medicine. Just when you think they’ve thought of everything, they add something new that facilitates your learning such as embedded podcasts. The integration of Anki is amazing. The Qbank from NEJM is awesome. I can’t say enough about these developers and the content.I do have one request though! I would like all the options from the computer to be on the app, such as the different specialty tracks and the qbank.

This is really a robust app for medical students and clinicians, I wish I had known about it earlier, the library is just amazing and qbank is really helpful to solidify your knowledge learned from the library. There is chrome extension but I really hope that you can make a safari extension for Mac too. Thanks a lot

Update to previous review:The issue resolved itself. I guess it’s just a authentication process when the app updates. The app itself works perfectly and is useful and comes in handy when it comes to looking up medical information. But please bring in dark mode..the light mode is just too blinding and stressful for the eyes especially when learning in the dark. Besides it’s 2021 and most apps these days has a dark mode by default. I hope dark mode would be brought to the app soon.
