Education

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

The Amduat Papyrus app is an augmented reality experience designed to help users decipher the Amduat papyrus displayed at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum. For museum visitors curious about the story behind the scenes, the app provides a simple, step-by-step explanation of the papyrus scenes without going into too much detail. Users can select any of the papyrus scenes in augmented reality, and receive a brief explanation in Arabic or English, augmenting the real papyrus. A recorded reading of the superimposed text also plays, making it extremely easy to understand the particular scene being explained.
