The Tile Counting feature assists in strategy decisions. Test your game strategy with the Replay option. This is the best way to learn new cards and new combinations.
A game ends when you mahjong or the wall of tiles runs out. Opponents build valid patterns and exchange jokers but do not declare mahjong.
The Help button in the app provides details about the mechanics of moving tiles. For beginners, reference Standard American MahJong rules and videos online. You should know basic rules before using this app because rules are not enforced.

Great practice format, one suggestion.
I love that I have a place to practice deciding which hand to go with and I like watching the other players, it has helped me get faster at determining the tiles not to discard. Although I was very confused once that a player discarded a card they had to have needed until I realized they don’t Mahjong.
I do have a suggestion regarding concealed hands. Please remove the Concealed Hands in the Tiles options once the player has has claimed a discard. As is true in the real game, you stop looking at concealed hands if you have called a discard.
Thanks again for a great game.

This is at the top of our feature list. Thank you! For now you can use the concealed hand filter after exposing tiles on the rack.
Great game, so fun to play! I have noticed one thing that seems to be a glitch. As the players discard, first me as east then south, west, north (which by the way seems to be the wrong direction and in reading I never see any player other than east having a designated direction) sometimes the discards are attributed to me then south then west then back to south, west, north, and then me again. So I check to see what tile south called and nothing is exposed. The rotation shouldn’t have changed without someone calling and exposing a tile.

Thank you for the feedback!
It does seem backwards but East South West North is the conventional naming and order for MahJong seating. It is the chinese (from which american mahjong is derived of course) order of saying directions combined with the older counter clockwise order of playing card games that makes it backwards from a map.
For discards make sure that you drag right to discard. Dragging left will cause an undo and make the order you saw. I will reduce the chances of an accidental left drag for the next release I think its a common problem with fast play.
Eight Bam has done it again. This version of Practice American Mahjongg works perfectly. Displays are crisp and instant. It's a great way to learn the new American Mahjongg Card. The developer continues to improve the app. Practicing on the app provides me with two benefits - I really enjoy playing it and it makes me a better Mahjongg player. There is a wealth of information about each hand you play. In addition, the developer is very responsive. Thank you for one of my favorite apps.
