This app is THE PITS! No wonder it’s so poorly rated.
I’m a new member of Empire BC & have been struggling with this ‘Empire Anywhere’ app since day one!
I registered, I can log into my account but the only thing the app allows me to do is see my ID card, which I already carry in my wallet!
> This app doesn’t save my ‘communications preferences’, no matter how many times I log in & hit SAVE. This error screen is always the first thing I see after I log in.
> I can’t access messages - error screen says ‘not available in my plan’
> I can’t see my benefits - again, error screen says ‘not available in my plan’.
I have called technical support several times & they are useless. They’ve reset my password but nothing changes. And their answer is always the same: ‘there is only limited app access on a smartphone. If you want full access to your account, you must use a laptop to access our website.’
Then why offer smartphone users a half-assed app in the first place?
What the hell good does this do me when I don’t carry a laptop around with me & need insurance information on the spot?
I’ve had CDPHP coverage for years & their app access was 100% primo, no matter what device I used.
I can not believe that a company as old and established as Empire BC BS has such a poorly written, user UNfriendly & basically useless app for smartphone users.
I give up!
Touch ID issue
First of all, I really like this mobile App. Simple, super fast find what I need. It’s like as soon as I login I can instantly find my ID card via the “View ID Card” quick link. And same way to quickly find my payment info or make payment,etc. I would give 5 star but with the issue below I found, which to me is an important feature needed.
I wanted to use touch ID to log in. So I went to MENU/Profile/Login and Security to enable the Touch ID feature. To test that, I logged out of the App first, right away I got prompted with either using Touch ID to log back in or clicking Cancel to cancel the Touch ID feature and use regular login by manually entering password. If I choose the Touch ID and I got no problem log back in which is good. However if I’m done and want to completely log off, the only choice is to click Cancel, which seems to be designed to cancel the Touch ID feature. The problem with that is if I want to login again, I’ll have to use the regular log, i.e. manually enter my password. But I want to be able to log in with Touch ID whenever I launch the mobile App.

So I am a new Anthem card holder and literally just finished the registration process before writing this. I completed it on my iPhone in the safari web browser but it asked me to check out the app, which I usually prefer anyways. When I got to the App Store to download it I was worried it wouldn’t be worth it bc of all the 1 star reviews complaining about not being able to view the electronic copy of the ID card. So after deciding to check out the app for myself to see, I found out that there is absolutely no issue with the app and I pulled up the ID card in seconds. By simply selecting “Menu” -> “My Coverage” -> “ID Card” an image of the ID card will pop up with a front and back. I hope this helps bc I know how stressful it is to not have a copy of the card!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
