An interactive storytelling audio walking app for your smartphone, inhabit the ants in your world with AntVenture.
As you walk through your neighbourhood, your route to work or around your yard, you experience a day-in-the-life of four different types of common ants, and about what they think of humans.
AntVenture is an interactive choose-your-own-adventure storytelling walking app that brings you the inside scoop on how the ants beneath your feet understand the world around you, where these cheeky stories are tuned into your own sensory perceptions.
When you open the app you will see the ANT CARD where you will choose the "story-trail" you wish to take.
Once you have chosen the story you can place your phone in your pocket. You need to keep walking for the audio to trigger.
Along your route, you will determine the fate of these ants in classic "choose your own adventure" fashion.
At key points you will be asked to answer a SENSORY CARD question on your screen, a question about your direct surroundings.
Once you have answered the YES or NO question, the story will adapt to this sensory experience.
AntVenture utilizes your phone's pedometer, meaning that to activate the stories you need to be walking. (To enhance accessibility, there is an armchair mode to hear the stories without needing to walk.) Note: this app does not record your location in any way.
This app can be used anywhere in the world and there is no personal data retrieved by the app while using it or while having it on your phone.
