Difficult and inaccessible controls put a damper on a clever and beautiful game
Thematically and artistically, this game is awesome! Pretty watercolor-looking art, interesting puzzle concepts, and cool character and world designs. But it is suffers by having difficult controls that are not accessible for people with disabilities.
The game relies on having very fine motor skills in the first level— I knew what I had to do, but it took me over ten tries to do it because the movement was so hard to control. And in the second level, there is no visual alternative to solve the puzzle for people who are hearing impaired or simply can’t use sound/headphones for other reasons.
In general, the controls are pretty dizzying for a dyslexic person and I’d really appreciate just being able to tap where I want the character to go instead of having to spin the screen around with my fingers.
I definitely want to like this game and thematically it should be up my alley but I keep running into accessibility barriers that prevent me from playing.
