Solid on My Machine

Works well and is apparently by a relative newbie developer: kudos. Sure wish I could find advertised “dark mode” though.

Thanks for buying App Pier and for your review. Regarding dark mode, it is automatically activated when you enable dark mode in operating system from System Preferences -> General ->Use dark menu bar and Dock.

Every Touch Bar-enabled Mac should have this!!

Not including a way to launch apps directly from the Macbook Pro’s Touch bar was very shortsighted on Apple’s part, and might be one reason for all the criticism. Enter App Pier. A fast, easy way to launch your favorite apps in only a second or two. Way faster than the Dock, Launchpad, or Spotlight! I use it constantly and I miss having it whenever I plug in an external keyboard and use my laptop as a desktop computer. It takes a while to set up, as you manually have to open each app and then add it to App Pier’s list. But once you’re done, it’s incredible. However, the default keyboard combination to launch App Pier is ridiculous. I set mine to Command + Comma, two buttons that are right next to each other. Easy as pie.

One bug is that any time you open an app, all the other apps you have on your desktop disappear. They’re still running, you just have to click on their icon in the Dock to get them to appear again. I run almost everything in fullscreen mode, though, so it’s normally not a problem for me. Depends on your workflow. I recommend using as many apps as possible in fullscreen and swiping between them with your trackpad. Otherwise, it’s an awesome app and every Macbook Pro (2016 or later) user should get this app!

Thank you for using App Pier and for your nice review.
Regarding disappearing windows, maybe Focus Mode in settings is enabled. If you uncheck it, it will behave as you expect. If it is still a problem, please let me know about the details via info@zaferarican.com. I will be happy to fix it. About inconvenient shortcut, I agree with you. With all different keyboard layouts, it was difficult to find a good one. Nice to hear that you change it to your taste. App Pier is keyboard-friendly too. If you start typing the name of the app, it will automatically select the app, even after the first letter most of the time. Pressing return then, will switch to it. You can have detailed info in support page. Finally, I am going to work on faster initialization of App Pier List. Thanks again for your feedback and review.
