BE THE FASTEST - BUT BE WARNED, ANYTHING IS PERMITTED! REDISCOVER THE CLASSIC CARD GAME AND GO!
Hop in your car and hit the road! The goal in this classic card game is simple: be the first to reach 1000 miles! Play with up to three friends on the same device, or test your driving skill against the AI! Who will be the best behind the wheel?
Draw cards and use them to jump miles ahead of your opponents. But you also have to be careful, because your friends may well not just let you drive in peace: flat tires, accidents or simply running out of gas are some of the complications you might encounter on your journey. But if you play your best Safeties – such as Driving Ace, Puncture-Proof or Emergency Vehicle – you might just end up being first... to reach 1000 miles.
Also, check out the Course mode to discover a new way to get the youngest players involved! Get set, go!
• Up to 4 players: play in single-player mode against an AI, or challenge your friends in local multiplayer
• Two game modes:

Classic game, mediocre execution. Needs improvement.
The artwork on the cards is exactly as I remember as a kid. The rest of the artwork is consistently stylized ... it “works”, but I don’t care for it. The music is repetitive after a while. Considering how satisfying it is to play a Coup Fourré, one would think it would be a bigger deal, like a splash screen or a fanfare or something, but no.
The game play is, well, the interface can cause some frustration. Namely, the difference between playing a mileage card versus throwing it away isn’t clear. There is no undo either. It’s hella frustrating to try and play a 200 mile card only to discover it goes into the trash (and no undo)!
Having a full page splash screen that interrupts play when it is your turn is a turn-off. Too much movement and interruption. Maybe just highlight the current player? Maybe have a setting in options?
Overall, it is faithful to the card game, but this execution of it comes up short. It’s nice to have, but I wonder if I paid too much.
Close but not quite
I grew up playing Mille Bornes. This version has a quirky interface that takes a bit to get used to. The discarding is a little tricky. Managing safeties is weird. It puts them in a reserve area and then the next turn you draw up to a full set of cards, meaning I played safeties don’t take a slot up in your hand. This takes out the hand management aspect of the game. Also, it tends to auto play safeties when you don’t want it to (most notably with the Right of Way). It takes me out of the right hand management and card counting that this game is known for.
Also, you have to set an option that a Go Card is required to move. It defaults to off if you switch between modes and sometimes doesn’t apply if you resume a game later because you got a phone call.
The bonus “race” modes are a nice bit of different.
All in all, I’m disappointed by buying this. But it’s a little more glitz and glam if that’s what you’re looking for.
Fun but scoring isn’t accurate
This is a fun game to play. I must admit that after playing the card game for hours with friends, I’ve spent more time playing the app. The only downside to this game is that when playing to 5000 points the scoring isn’t quite accurate. The miles are always accurate however the other scores are hit and miss. The only other thing I’d like to see is the game deck being “reshuffled” and put back into the draw stack after it runs out until 1000 miles is reached.
Other than that it’s very enjoyable.
