I tend to just read, but my husband likes to reply to articles on yahoo. Recently he replied that it was in poor taste for iPhone to promote themselves - before all the bodies have even been discovered and buried in NC (post Helene - Florida hurricane)…he notice immediately after that he was unable to respond to an opposing view, and this article is not blocked from his viewing.
He has an iPhone I got him currently, but I doubt he will want another. I’m certainly not “techy” enough to know if it’s the phone or a google thing or something else…Maybe it’s something people who care about not being muzzled should investigate- This is an extreme censorship and quite clever for iPhone and friends to “block” any opposing thoughts. I have to admire the intelligence and forethought but fear the motive- I’m just a nobody so I hope this post doesn’t get me into trouble for having a conservative opinion. THIS forum is likely the only place on the internet that “tolerates” and allows opposing views without retaliation and I appreciate it. We love your work Elon- keep it up!!!

Every new update makes the app worse, less safe, and harder to use for all users. Beyond the censorship & sponsorship only reflecting Musk's political views, now all content is fed into GenAI whether you opt out or not, which is unethical content mining from artists and creators, not to mention infringing on the privacy of those who share pictures of themselves or, god forbid, their children. Why does Musk's AI need access to this, especially from people who want & should have every right to opt out? Removing public likes has also altered the algorithm and functionality of the app, making it impossible to know where the content on your feed is coming from as well as limiting the inherent connectivity of being able to view likes, which has helped connect people on this platform for years. Now, on top of everything, they are effectively removing the functionality of the block and mute functions that are in place specifically for user's safety. It is unreasonable to state that the only option someone has for safety and privacy from even one single harassing user is to fully private their account, which many people use for business or networking and could therefore have a direct effect on their livelihood. This app has been going downhill for years now, but this is truly a danger to any and everyone who uses this platform and needs to be undone immediately.

This is a great example of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. The Twitter app for Mac was working really well. It was a Mac app, not an iPad app. The decision to kill the dedicated Mac app without first making the iPad app fully capable of running well on macOS was stupid. One major problem I have is that when I am typing something in a tweet, the auto complete will try to guess what I am typing and it will often start replacing what I am typing before I can finish a word. This screws up what I was typing. I have to backspace over it and start again and again just to get something typed out. I also don’t like how when I am viewing another X user’s profile, I have to scroll right and left to see things like posts, replies, media, etc. The Mac app had all of these things available in the window without the need to scroll. The Mac app was responsive to the size of the window on the screen. This crappy app is not! It’s total laziness to make us use the iPad app on Mac instead of giving us a dedicated Mac app. X should either bring back the Mac app or start all over and do this right. macOS and iPadOS are essentially the same operating system, but they have different user interfaces. The app should be responsive to the interface of the device it is installed on. It should not force us to use an interface that was not designed for macOS.
