Great, but missing education feature
I noticed there’s a new education store on the Apple website where students get discounted products. I don’t know how long it’s been there but I’d really like to not have to go to the website to have to order from there when I have the app which is way more convenient. Honestly thought it’d be a no brainer🤷🏾♂️. For a long while I was using the app to check on devices and prices and if not for the one time I found out about the education store on the website...I’d have missed on the savings.
Horrible integration of website and app . . .
. . . And it cost me hundreds of dollars to learn that lesson. I attempted to purchase my daughter an iPhone 11 as a graduation gift from the Apple website using my MacBook Pro. I was excited to be able to trade in and recycle older Apple devices and to get the same no-interest monthly installment plan my mobile provider offers. I applied for the Apple Card, loaded my shopping cart, and . . . nothing. Transaction would not process. An Apple tech support representative suggested I use the Apple store app on my phone, and the good news is that the transaction processed. The bad news was that it did not process with monthly payments. I found out at the end of the first month that the entire balance was due on my Apple Card. Calls to Apple Card we’re no use. They redirected me to the Apple Store, and no one there is able or willing to help. They have the technology to locate my phone anywhere on the globe, but it’s “not possible” to get my purchase on a no- interest payment plan. Right. Buyer beware! Be absolutely sure everything is in order before buying your new device here. I’m paying MORE than I would have through my mobile carrier by far. RAW DEAL! I’ve spent hours on hold awaiting an answer from an alleged supervisor. I guess they’re not answering.
Recent update not good!
The most recent update now forces you to only use your iCloud sign in information. I very much do not like this as I was signed in via my iTunes account and it had all of my long purchase history via that way. Now all of the purchase history is gone and I can’t easily view it from the app. I also had an order that I was still tracking and now that’s gone from the app. Please bring back the feature where you could switch to a different account and not have it just pull in from your iCloud information. I was hoping to have my purchases all under one account and got have some under my iTunes and iCloud. Not happy, because as of right now I won’t be using this app to make any future purchases and will only be using the Apple store via the safari website.
