Ratings and Reviews
I love it, but please allow a way to add gift cards from Wallet.
I love this app, buying items by scanning with my phone and not having to wait in line is incredible. The only bad thing about this app is there’s no way of linking a gift card in your wallet with the app (even two Apple employees at the store confirmed it).
In wallet, a gift card has an Apple Store icon but clicking it does nothing but open the Apple Store app. It doesn't apply the gift card to the purchase.
High value orders
This app does *NOT* allow you to have your item shipped to the store. For example the new 16inch mac book pro - can only ship to your home, with this app you can only ship to your home, you cannot choose “Pick up at store”.
Fundamentally, any time an order crosses a certain MONEY threshold it becomes a HIGH VALUE purchase. This app should automatically offer and state: “This is a high value order, to ensure that porch pirates do not take your order would you like to pick the order up at your local Apple store?”
There are MANY places for example apartment complexes that sign for your shipment - but *WILL*NOT* accept responsibility if it is lost. If you don’t believe me - go ask any large apartment complex near your own offices.
By diverting the order to an official store you do 2 things: (1) the safety of the order is ensured, and (2) You Apple, have an additional opportunity to sell your customer more stuff.
If there are no Apple stores locally, choose an existing local retailer that sells your product and offer to ship the product to that store, effectively converting the sale from an “apple-direct” into “local store” sale - you gain in two ways: (A) The big box retailer makes their normal profit, (B) they assume the porch pirate risk, and (C) the customer gets good face to face service, (D) your customers have a better overall experience.
But currently, its stupid - and your customers have to assume the risk for porch pirates.
For some reason I’ve been paying for a data overage this month. When I haven’t been using more data intentionally. I checked what was using cellular data and there was the Apple store app at 1.1GB?????? How TF is this app using 1 GB of my data? I used the app exactly once 3 weeks ago and then never opened it again. And I used it on wifi!!
The only thing that I can think of is it is sharing constant customer data with Apple or it’s downloading its entire database and updating images while on cellular. Neither of which should be happening and both of which come with a resultant battery usage due to the electrical cost of transmitting that much data.
Regardless I am disappointed that my iPhone doesn’t have the ability to look at my data usage to determine how the app caused this. All I can see is it’s total data.
Why can’t I look at my data usage like my battery usage??? All the same data is being collected. Whatever I’m getting off topic.
I am uninstalling this app and likely never to download it again. Which is frustrating because aside from this MAJOR FLAW it’s a great app.
