Don’t waste your time
I’ve had this app now for over two years. When I had a new furnace put in, they upgraded my thermostat and recommended this app to sync with the new system. About 90% of the time it doesn’t connect, and like other users have reviewed here, I have tried every single option, and I’m about to give up. I can’t believe the developers will let this type of Poor design and negative reviewing continue after so long and not give this thing a complete update and overhaul. It’s a testimony to how little this company cares about their users and customers. If you’re reading this and haven’t yet begun to use the app, save yourself a ton of misery and pain and find something else.
Just got their new thermostat and their app and they’re both awful. The thermostat for the longest time said it had no internet even though the rest of the house did. That means the app didn’t work either. I emailed support and never got a response. Thanks Aprilaire.
After that issue finally went away, I continue to deal with the app being awful. When opening the app I have to sit for a few minutes as it tries to connect and always fails. Then I try a combination of things like closing the app and it will sometimes actually connect to the thermostat. Wish I didn’t have to use this app.
No multi user capability?
There appears to be no multi user capability for a single thermostat. My wife and I would both like to be able to control our single thermostat from each of our phones. When trying to attempt this, I keep getting a message saying the thermostat is already registered. Nest had no problem with this capability. If it is possible, this app is so clunky that it is not user friendly enough to figure out or the instructions are terrible/completely non existent.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
