I am using the app to track my jumping spiders. One feature we need is to record stats for egg sacs. Another feature I would love is a photo archive for each spider so I can track color changes for them as well as their chels since they vary and change so much from molt to molt. Also, I would like to report an issue with transferring cloud data. I use the app on both my iPhone and iPad. Sometimes when I transfer data from one device to the other it will delete all pictures of my spiders, sometimes only some. It’s really frustrating because I have 50 spiders plus egg sacs and communal slings I’m tracking and it’s very time consuming to have to add them all back just for them to be erased again.
I keep coming back to this app hoping the dev has taken some suggestions and streamlined functionality. My previous app just died. No longer available in the app store and broken. It took me THREE days to update or transfer all 54 spiders to Arachnifiles. No data import or export. It seems like dev might have gotten overwhelmed by the feedback and sort of… given up? Friend, this app has SO much potential. But right now, it’s just not there. Great for new keepers and casual keepers who only have a few spiders. Those of us who have 10+ and/or actively breed spiders, NEED more functionality. A care tracker app needs to be more useful for tracking feeding, watering, molting, pairing, sac drops, dates, times, time between molts/feedings, whether an animal ate or refused food, etc, than spreadsheets, paper notebooks, and tank stickers. You’re nearly there! Maybe sit down with Richard/Tarantula Collective or something and work out details and then implement the changes. This could be a 5-star app. It just needs some work. 🫶🏻
I love the idea of this app, and I give this rating with awareness of the fact that this has never been done before. The presentation is amazing, but there are difficulties when I interact with an existing collection of 40+ T’s. It took me about 4 hours to start profiles for my collection. I could only imagine how long it would take for someone with 100+. I would like to see this process be more fluid because uploading an entire collection onto this is a bit intimidating for someone with as little as me. I would like to see a counting system that promotes more efficient inventory. The established presentation is very nice with the card swipes but I would like to see an option to view in list form. Please do not let my rating be discouraging I am very appreciative of the efforts that went into this app. Thank you so much for what you have done!
Wow that quite a collection! I will work on a more streamline system for adding Ts. :) And has for the list feature, the newest version has it! :)
Awesome app, very excited. I look forward to seeing more species added! A very minor tweak I might suggest is an “added” notification when adding a T to your wishlist. I really love the setup of the ‘my collection’ and how it lets you choose species, genus etc. feeding or other care reminders would be fun to add as well, and perhaps some interactive elements (similar to those plant watering games that remind you when to water) but I’m just rambling now since I’m super excited about this! All in all, great app and I can’t wait to see how it continues to progress. Great job everyone!
Make no mistake I absolutely will be updating my rating since this app is still under development. So far I really love being able to catalogue all my creepy crawlies. I had an excel table keeping all of them there but it’s so much easier to have an app where they display like little collector cards. I’m really excited to see how this app updates over time. In the meantime I have a few things that I would like to suggest for the next update! Some tarantula species are not labeled, or at least the ones that aren’t entirely in a scientific species that exists already. I.E. Hapolopus sp. colombia, Cyriopagopus sp. hati hati, etc. I’d like to see subspecies available on the drop downs as well so that I don’t have to write them in. Also noticed in the iPhone version that the scorpion genus and species has no drop down. Would like to see that included. My favorite keeper app so far! Really enjoying it and can’t wait to see it grow!
Thanks for this! I appreciate it! It takes a lot of time to program in the genus and species for everything. I have added more to the list and have given the user the ability to manually type in the genus and species boxes just in case I missed more. :) Thanks again!
This app is so good! It has all the information you need and more, I love that it has the information of the species along with a video from the tarantula collective! It even has a supply list!! I don’t have any tarantulas right now but when I get one in the future I know where to go to choose which kind I would like to get (along with some side research). There is also a wishlist so if you see a tarantula species you like you can add it to the list so you’ll never forget.
