PLEASE NOTE: You need to print the marker to play ARBasketball. It's free of charge :-)
ARBasketball was featured in New & Noteworthy in more than 60 countries!
You've been dreaming of playing basketball at the office. Now it's possible!
Now everything you need to play basketball is your iPhone and a small piece of paper. ARBasketball shows augmented reality technology at its best.
Print the marker from http://augmentedpixels.com/arb_marker.pdf and point your phone's camera at it. You'll see the hoop on the marker's place. Throw the ball using swipe gesture and score points. Due to augmented reality technology you'll forget that the ball and the hoop are not real ones and will plunge into the game! Of course you could buy a real hoop but would it be so cool? ;)
-Utilizes true visual augmented reality

Perfect no. Fun hell yeah
So I get that AR is still being baked but this is a fun lil game that is quick and easy to get going and shows off the tech well.
I even used my iPad with the marker and played from my iPhone pretty awesome till the iPad went to sleep lol
The visuals and sound are well polished. However there needs to be some more challenge to the single player modes. An app like Paper Toss included the random wind which keeps things interesting. Here, once you've found the correct slider setting, it's hard to miss. Speaking of the slider, I would get rid of it and only use the flick method. That's a lot more challenging, although it feels like all your shots are really underpowered, at least on an iPad. I shouldn't have to swipe all the way to the top of an iPad to get full power, that's just too far.
In the classic mode, the map showing where you should be setting up from is nice, but even better would be an AR version of it. Finding just the right angle is a bit frustrating.
Lastly, the app always crashes when you close the Game Center window (I'm running a 3rd gen iPad with iOS 5.1.1).
The AR on this works well if you have a good camera. As long as the picture is flat and your camera is in focus the app works great.
