Arches National Park Geology Tour provides an illustrated and narrated introduction to the geology of Arches National Park. Illustrations, animations, and photos by Dennis Tasa are narrated by geology professor Deborah Ragland, Ph.D. of the University of New Mexico, Taos.
Either as a supplement to your visit or as a planning tool, Arches National Park Geology Tour provides an extensive description of the geology of the park. Listen to the narration as you hike the trails, study the photos and animations before your visit, or just take a virtual trip.
THE GEOLOGY TAB
Sequences of illustrations, animations, and high resolution photographs are used to describe the geology of the park. Viewers are introduced to the geologic history of the Colorado Plateau. Forces and processes that shaped the geology of the park are illustrated and described. A Geologic Map and Stratigraphic Column for the park are included.
THE TOUR TAB
A Quick Tour of the park allows you to view photos of many of the park features as if you were driving along the roads in the park. A list of locations is provided so you can easily find the feature of interest. Several photos have additional annotations to help illustrate the geology.
THE MAP TAB
This tab provides the National Park Service park map and the corresponding USGS topographic map. The maps can be enlarged for more detail. Touching a point on the map will take you to the corresponding photo in the Tour. As you advance through the Tour, the map location follows your location in the Tour.
No internet connection is required. Use it to plan your trip or supplement your visit as you tour the park. Ideal for geologists and students in the classroom or in the field.

Excellent guide to the geology of Arches
Use this to plan your visit or take it with you, fully narrated, covers most of the stops along the drive.
A must have for any Geology enthusiast!!!
I can't believe it! Another great app. from Tasa Geology...This one is a must have for anyone planning a trip to Arches National Park or SE Utah for that matter, or anyone who has ever been to the park. The photos and graphics along with the narration is excellent and the geology is right on the money. You'll see things differently with the knowledge of the resource and how it came about. If you are interested in Geology in any way you need to visit this national park and with this virtual trip to the park makes your visit a much more in-depth survey the park. Almost better than the real thing; well almost. But this will completely enhance the trip or make you want to visit again. Get this app. and impress your friends and family when you take this trip to the park with your knowledge of how the Earth works and how these natural wonders were formed.
I know this will be on my short list of places to visit again this summer because of this net app.

Your own personal park guide!
I originally picked this up because I'm a trail guide junkie, but am totally blown away by the depth, usability, and endless features in this app! The photos are beautiful, the narration is spot on in length and content, and the amount of information about the geology of the area is fantastic. The interactive park map sends this one over the top.
A perfect trail companion to help you get the most our of your visit. I've been to the park several times and I *still* learned something from this app. Skip the $15 on a paper trail guide and get this one.
