Archimedes is the graphing calculator reinvented for the 21st century. It’s much simpler yet more powerful, made with attention to the tiniest detail.
FORMULA LIBRARY (PRO)
Archimedes is one of the first calculators to feature an inbuilt formula library. It’s as simple as picking a formula and filling in the variables. The answer is calculated automatically, and even units are fully supported.
Intersecting, integrating and finding derivatives should be intuitive and straightforward. Archimedes lets you interact directly with plots and makes it all as easy as dragging your fingers across the screen.
Archimedes is backed by a powerful mathematical engine. Equations are solved automatically and can be shown in both exact and numeric form, and even systems of equations are supported.

Amazing, with a few small holes
I love this app. I’ve used it for years and it has some features that i seriously enjoy. It lacks a few features that, if added, would put me over the edge to buy the upgrade. I really want a factorial button (doing the multiplication “by hand” is annoying). Along with that I want a permutations (nPr) and a choose function (nCr), this would make calculations related to statistics much easier. I’m thinking about buying the upgrade now, but if those were added I would buy it right away!
Best calculator app I’ve found
This is my go-to calculator for doing algebra and for plugging in symbolic solutions. The format is similar th the basic functions of graphing calculators, where you can go and see old things you have typed and copy and paste and set up complicated equations ams see them typed out. I have not tried the graphing functions or anything but as a calculator app, I will never go back the basic Apple calculator as long as this one is around. It’s better in every way!
Great calculator app! Still has a few bugs
I love this app as a calculator and it has completely replaced my calculator app for physics and more advanced math. It just has a couple of small issues like on the graph when you trace it never seems to quite find the intercept exactly, instead showing a super close number in scientific notation (floating point issue?). Also as other reviewers have mentioned, adding matrix features would definitely bring this app to 5 stars
