For those who are in Cincinnati and want to know more about the city around them, ArchiTour Cincinnati will provide you with an interactive way to learn about the architecture of the city and share your perspective on the buildings and places you visit. The app is designed to provide self-guided tours that users can take at their own pace as their schedules permit. The initial app includes 3 walking tours in the downtown area, and additional tours will be added throughout the region in the near future. When users select tours, GPS tracking identifies their locations and the significant buildings and places within a 300 foot radius. Photos of buildings appear at the bottom of the screen, and information about those buildings can be accessed by tapping the photos.
While the information provided has been developed from reliable sources, users can also provide their comments or personal knowledge to expand the database of information on these projects. In addition, local professionals provide video commentaries on selected buildings along the tour routes sharing why these buildings are significant to them personally. For the convenience of users, information is also provided on local restaurants, bars and coffee shops along the tour routes.
Cincinnati is one of the oldest cities in the Midwest with a rich architectural heritage, and this app will help users appreciate the city on a new level. Discover the treasures that exist in Cincinnati, and experience the transformative power of design that has made Cincinnati a great place to live, work and play!
