ARDMS SKILLS 4+

I have 5! That I will have to take.. if this replaces the 30 CME’s then I see the point but to require both is soooo much. We are already stressed from the workload and decrease in techs, and if you now require even more… I’m afraid you will push even more into retirement or not maintaining credentials at all. Increase in dues, increase in requirements, decrease in sonographers… NOT A GOOD COMBO

Is it to replace the 30 CMEs needed to maintain credentials, or is it yet another requirement added on top of them? It’s easy enough to use, but you are required to do quizzes in every area in which you are registered. I’ve got 3- one of which I’ve never used but was required by old boss to get even though my lab doesn’t perform general ultrasounds. So you could say that those quizzes could teach me something, BUT it isn’t anything I’d use professionally- so time waster.

Just another useless organization waiting for your annual fee for a credential any trained monkey could get. Study and regurgitate memorized information to get a plastic card that’s means next to nothing. It amazes me how many people have a credential but still can not perform the fundamental duties of a sonographer. Don’t tell me you’re an RVT but can only perform carotids and lower extremity venous exams. Maybe time to study for my CCI credential and leave ARDMS behind.
