New version: support dark and light modes

After initialization, select the location for 4 objects in the scene by tapping on the small yellow dots. When the 4th object is placed, the program will randomly place fifty small occluding objects around them.

The scene is now ready for exploration.

I find objects placed approximately 3 ft. (1m) away work from the device the best, but I encourage you to experiment.

Skinnable and Noise Objects can be "skinned" (wrapped) with photos from your Photo Library. Tap on a thumbnail in the preferences screen to open the Photo Library and select an image.

NOTE: "Skinnable Objects" will not appear in the scene until they have been assigned photos.

Neat mobile AR museum experience in an App

A creative use of an app that gives me the same type of amusement and experience I get visiting a modern art museum and walking around an intriguing mobile or sculpture in motion. It’s entertaining to get the floating AR sculpture objects going in different environments. A bit like playing a puzzle or spinning a spinner- it’s entertaining and intriguing AR sculpture. May take a moment to see yellow dots that you then click on to have cool balls, cylinders and other objects appear. You can then walk around the sculpture viewing it through your mobile device.

A new medium for sculpture

Here’s a new way to engage with sculpture, by situating it as a digital object in any three-dimensional environment. The key to this app is simplicity: just tap where you want the sculpture to go, then interact and approach as you would with a physical object in a gallery. It’s fun to see what happens to it in different environments, and the app makes it easy to take and send image captures. Surely we can expect to see many more apps like this, with augmented reality opening the door for a whole new kind of sculpture practice.

Simple, fun, way to explore AR

The application only does a few things, letting you add various objects to your camera view, wrap objects with photos, and capture images. A good way to explore current Apple augmented reality capabilities.
