Selfish

This app is great for professors - they can take attendance with ease! But it comes at the cost of students watching stupid ads before they check into class and pay a monthly fee to view their attendance grades! And if you have a terrible teacher like mine (who doesn’t even teach you anything, simply rambles about useless things irrelated to what you’re learning) you can’t skip class and study it on my own! I just read an entire chapter of my book that my professor taught me nothing about but also had to waste 6 hours in class the last 2 weeks listening to him ramble on about tech companies and how he’s a superior teacher to the other math teachers... and I got the privilege to listen to all of that after I watched an ad to check in to class. I’m now laying here, in bed, sick with no way of knowing whether or not my “excusal” got approved because I refuse to pay the monthly fee $$$$ to view my attendance history.

I’m ashamed of the developers of this app, honestly - at least don’t take me to the “pay us money so you don’t have to watch ads” screen every time I check in. I refuse to give you people money (even though I watch your dumb ads every time - so I guess you win)

This is not a good app

I had to download this app because my professor was using it to take attendance. The experience is pretty bad. You have to watch an add in order to check in for a class unless you pay for the premium tier. Also, on iOS, the button to check in without paying is subdued text, so there were a few classes where I didn’t check in for class because I didn’t see how.

This app offers a service that I as a student would never pay for. This app is, at best, an add-free feature of what should be a larger service. I’m personally against attendance being taken at the college level, so there is no need for a better way to do something that’s pointless to start with. If I were a parent of someone in K-12, I would never pay for my kid to use this app and I would encourage them to play the adds loudly while waiting for the privilege of signing in.

Fine concept, poor execution

Would be fine in concept but the execution is horrible. The app lags every time you open it and sometimes randomly refuses to let you check in. I have to reboot my phone every time I go to class just so I can be counted as present since the app doesn’t work properly. When I request an excusal I cannot see what I’ve typed so you just have to blindly write and hope for no typos or autocorrects that are incorrect. I also think that there should be an option to request excusals after the class period starts rather than just before because sometimes you don’t know what’s going to come up and regardless, the professor can accept or decline the excuse so I don’t understand why it won’t allow for you to submit one.
