This app is great for professors - they can take attendance with ease! But it comes at the cost of students watching stupid ads before they check into class and pay a monthly fee to view their attendance grades! And if you have a terrible teacher like mine (who doesn’t even teach you anything, simply rambles about useless things irrelated to what you’re learning) you can’t skip class and study it on my own! I just read an entire chapter of my book that my professor taught me nothing about but also had to waste 6 hours in class the last 2 weeks listening to him ramble on about tech companies and how he’s a superior teacher to the other math teachers... and I got the privilege to listen to all of that after I watched an ad to check in to class. I’m now laying here, in bed, sick with no way of knowing whether or not my “excusal” got approved because I refuse to pay the monthly fee $$$$ to view my attendance history.
I’m ashamed of the developers of this app, honestly - at least don’t take me to the “pay us money so you don’t have to watch ads” screen every time I check in. I refuse to give you people money (even though I watch your dumb ads every time - so I guess you win)
Costly for students
I’m ok with watching ads, like I get it. I can wait 30 seconds to check in. But the fact that I have to pay money to view my attendance, that counts as my grade, is absolutely ridiculous. You mean to tell me that after paying tuition, books and other supplies, I have to pay to check my own grade? Ridiculous. I’d be ok to watch an ad for access, but having to pay for a basic feature is insane, greedy and selfish. Teachers and professors, please do not use this app. Your students will appreciate it.
Bad for Professors, Bad for Students
Don’t waste your time on this app. It had so many problems that I gave up after three days. Geolocation doesn’t work properly, so students who are actually present can’t check in. They have to watch ads to check in. They have to share their location data with the app at all times, so there are big privacy concerns. All around, this app was terrible at doing the one thing it was supposed to do: make my life easier.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
