Art Text 4 - text effects app 4+

WOW! Buy this before they raise the price!

I've been using Art Text since the original release. It's one of those apps that I open once or twice a month for something, and never really forget about. Given how long it's been around, I actually consider this high praise. WIth the 4.2 release, animation features have been added that make this so much more useful for me, so I expect I'll go from a couple of times a month to several times a week.

This is a thoughtfully designed app, and a Mac app through and through. It's a lot of fun to play with, but also very useful. Most recently, I created art for a badge we will award students, and I frequently use it for eye-catching graphics to break up long text passages in content I create for the classroom. Now these will be even MORE eye-catching, with animation!

My advice is to buy this app now before Be Light realizes what a great addition this is and raises the price!

Powerful, Intuitive - Huge time saver!

I'm not sure why this doesn't have a solid 4.5 or 5 star rating, but I think the latest version is probably way more than adequate for most common use cases. And even beyond... For example, what I need it for and bought it for at this point is, I have a custom font that I created with Glyphs 3 app (my hand drawn graphics characters). My font defines characters in the the UNICODE numeric range reserved for custom characters, so they don't correspond to keyboard keys. But I was able to import the font in Font Book on mac, and copy and paste the symbols into Art Text 4, and convert to 3D, make them metallic and rotate them, etc... Trying to do that with a bunch of characters in Photoshop or Affinity would be a big hassle and learning curve, but Art Text 4 makes it so easier. I used an earlier version of this app, and this is even better.

Significantly Better than Three

They seemed to have fixed some of The Problems with AT3, such as Shadows being cut off when i copy & paste The Text to Pages.
If you're exporting The Palette though, Everything has to be inside The Boarders.
i thought that maybe that : Effects/Distortions/Roundness would allow me to 'Fatten' up The Text, as can be done with 3D Text, but it works somewhat differnetly.
There are loads of New Things, & The Controls have been rearranged a little bit. The Extras are kind of Expensive, but they're Not really required. You can achieve any of The Store Bought Effects on your own after you become familiar enough with it !
One other that eluded me for a long time was, that you can create any black & transparent image as a .png or .gif & use it in AT3 or 4. Simply find it from : Shapes/Customfolder.
It's still missing a few things, such as recessive text, as you might see in engraved roman carvings.
& i would kind of like to see a 'SaladToss' Feature in which AT4 or 5 would Create a Completely Unique Combination of Features on it's own ( !!! )
