Arup in London is a walking tour of London and exploration of the built environment by way of Arup projects. The mobile app connects users to the city and highlights Arup’s overt contribution to the city’s skyline, as well as less overt contributions hidden within its streets and parks.
Arup in London maps nearby buildings of interest and walking routes based a user’s location. The app encourages walking by tracking distances walked with its passport function; the user is rewarded with a badge for each site visited.
Once at a destination the user can read more about the building, swipe through sketches, plans, and construction photos, and explore the structural nuances of the design. The user can share photos and project badges over social networks with friends and family, creating a collaborative story of their tour of Arup’s London.
Arup in London was created and designed by Arup’s Foresight + Research + Innovation team in collaboration with Ojingo Labs (UX and development) and ESRI (GIS mapping) with creative input from various project experts from featured Arup installations.

Cool way to see London
This app is a fantastic way to challenge yourself to see parts of London you might not go to otherwise. When I head to London, I tend to spend most of me time in places I have been to before and know I love. Usually, it takes a show or other event to get me somewhere else.
Arup in London drew me all over London to see great architecture (and then learn about it! How often do you see a cool building and wonder what its story is?). I am not close to collecting all of the badges yet and can't wait to go back to London to get some more.
Highly recommend this app and wish I had it for other cities.
Great walking and experience app
Arup in London is a great too if you are wondering about many of the prominent buildings that line the Thames River and beyond. You can seek out buildings near you, record your distance walk, and receive a badge once you arrive. Arup in London uses your mobile device as a link between the physical and digital worlds with layers of information, sketches, diagrams, and in progress photos. As well as some 3D models. It reveals the unseen beauty of engineering that surrounds us in the built enviornment.
Nice looking and very easy to use. Top notch.
